Topic: [Bug] I think I broke it...

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

So, I've been browsing e621 for a while now but recently made it account specifically to find help fixing this. When I see a picture, it doesn't load, just the tags. This has happened to me before and I don't remember how I fixed it but this time it's more widespread. Last time, just my tablet had the bug, but this time my laptop does too. I've cleared my cache, reset my internet, updated java, and (as a last resort) reset both my laptop and tablet but nothing has worked. If anyone can help me fix this, that would be greatly appreciated!

Have you or anyone in your household changed any settings on your router lately? Sometimes, changing DNS servers on a device or router can cause unsatisfactory results. You can test this without asking anyone by setting your computer's DNS address to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 (Google's Hosted DNS servers). If it works afterwards, then that's your problem.

If not, try disabling your Adblocker. Sometimes a bad adblock rule can cause issues for people, especially if websites try to get evasive with things like anti-adblock server software. (COUGHCOUGHpornhubCOUGH)

Images and thumbnails are stored under seperate domain, so I would also see this being issue with VPNs and remember some russians having these issues.

e621 only has one single really small ad banner which never contains anything malicious and adblockers can block regular posts with tag "advertisement" even if you haven't blacklisted the tag, so whitelisting this site will most likely give you much less headache in long term. Especially when sometimes there's some really stupid fourth wall breaking advertisement in there.

Thx for the advise! I have reset the router recently, mostly because how slow it was getting. I guess I'll try resetting it again but I'll probably have to do that tonight. Everyone I my house has to have internet (business, school, ect.) So, I'll post back here when I get around to that.

Welp, it didn't work. Guess I'll have to try the DNS thing.
