We never got around to deciding whether we should keep avian and bird as separate tags.
So I suppose that should be sorted out before we alias more into them. Currently, bird is implicated to avian; with some of the species implicated to bird and some directly to avian.
The only actual difference between bird and avian tags seems to be that gryphons, harpies, and other bird hybrids are tagged as avians, but not as birds. Is that really enough of a difference to keep them separate?
There's at least two ways to fix it:
1) If those are deemed redundant, then we should simply alias bird into avian.
2) Or alternately, fix the species implications by moving those from avian to bird. So we don't need to tag bird manually for hawk, owl, raven, and all the other birds that are directly implicated to avian.
The previous discussions about it can be found on forum #45706 and forum #127116.

Thanks for the explanation. I think option 2 is better for now. It can work out even if the word get aliased or not
