Requested feature overview description.
Similar to imgur style, create quick buttons with counters under the pool/parent/child list for upvoting, downvoting, and favourites. Consider also having faves auto-upvote a post, though it can work without too.
Why would it be useful?
Easier to reach upvoting and favourites would increase user interaction, increasing the amount of people who use the system, how fast you can use it, and has a better chance of people voting on posts.
What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

This has all of my plus ones.

I'd also love if the 'add to pool/set/note' buttons and maybe the set as avatar butons were moved up too.

(also, maybe it should be "add translation/note" to better emphasize what the purpose of a note should be

maybe an option to toggle between them in case some people prefer the old option just in case

I defiantly don't want them moved above the tags by default, I kinda like where the tags are now. Having an option to toggle might be nice or possibly moving them next to the "Full Size" button directly under the picture.

some pictures have pretty ridiculously long tag lists. Scrolling down past absolutly everyone and everything to press 'fave' is rediculous...

take post #1406285 where fur/eye/body/hair colors are not tagged. where poses are not tagged. which should probably have a few dozen more tags, but doesn't.

Or post #1443660 which just has a whole lot goin' on.

As for add to pool/set/note buttons... this is more for our translators than the regular users.. you've got to manually scroll up and down whenever you add a new note.

y'know you can collapse the tag list by clicking on the tag categories.

That said, I still feel like everything I mentioned is a relatively valid point.

Why do you think things are better the way they are now other than 'kinda liking' it?

Fair enough.

For this kind of use case, it would be an improvement if we could also click on Tags header itself to fold the whole lot away in one click.

Yeah, most boorus I've used have the collapse arrow actually visible, don't know why it's not there on here.

Mostly because I never up or down vote any post and only ever use the options section to report tagging abuse, but I do use the tags and having them moved down would be kind of annoying. I understand that I'm not the average user, though.
Also I just feel like it'd be kinda weird to have a booru where the first thing on the page isn't the tag list since tags are kinda the most important part of this kind of site other than the images themselves. And for people who use the site without an account you'd just have a bunch of pointless buttons at the top.

Well, that's fair enough, but a lot of people make use of those buttons, even if you don't. I mean, I would fave/upvote more things if the button was easier to get to.

And, as an uploader, I love looking at the numbers. I love seeing that so many people have appreciated what I've uploaded--I don't generally upload porn, I like uploading pretty stuff, so I don't usually get a lot of favorites or upvotes. Each one means a lot to me--but those buttons are out of the way. I have to seek them out. they're not, BAM, visible where everyone can see them and click on them.

Honestly, my ideal would be to have fave/vote buttons right below the image, along with the pool-forward/back buttons but we're talking about a side bar revamp here.

I think they used to have the arrow there, must have removed it at some point.

Seems like an an odd design choice. I only learned about this feature on accident. I believe such visual indicators should be added as well.
