Reason:

Pretty much the same thing, but tagged less.

-1. Not all games are video games, and I can see it being used for traditional, practical games like board games or physical activity games.

I'd say playing_videogame could IMPLY playing_game(s?), along with other related things like playing_board_game(s?), etc.

I actually like your idea a lot more: playing_game(s) as an umbrella tag, including traditional board games, tabletop games like D&D, video games, physical activity stuff. Is there currently a tag for playing non-video games? Or for participating in sports?

As of now unfortunately no, we mostly just have vague tags for these things atm, and really this suggestion isn't a bad idea imho. The best we have is playing_videogame, playing_game, gaming, etc. There's also the incredibly vague playing that needs cleaning up honestly.

But yeah, a broad umbrella tag for playing games would be great, and then it would include board games, tabletop, card games, video games, physical activity, and other related activities. Real nice idea I'm behind honestly, +1. Really in general tags involving playing games in general tend to be vague or underused, so this would be pretty helpful imho.

Sports, yes. Others, not really.

Role-playing_game, board_game, card_game and such, combined with the base gaming tag.

plz playing_game not games. Most people only play one game at once. People who play angry birds while playing D&D are basically evil.
