Topic: Takedown request annoyances

I'm pretty sure I've had problems with this system before but I don't remember how they were solved.

Basically I went on a purge of some of my old artwork that I want removed for various reasons. But once I finished adding this extensive takedown request (Which can be found at:)

https://e621.net/takedown/show/4832

It tells me something like this:

"""Your takedown request has been successfully created. Using the gallery account that you specified below as the "source", please send your verification code via PM/note to:"""

I have no idea what this means.

What gallery account? What source? What?

Then down at the bottom it says some shit like:
"""Or via email from your personal website"""

Then """This step is necessary in order to confirm that you are who you claim to be"""

This takedown request is being sent from the same account that has posted -all- of my art. None of these pictures have been posted from anyone except me, and only on this account. I don't quite understand? Why do I have to list a source? I don't even have a source this is the only place I post my work on.

I don't understand why I need to confirm who I am or how I can even do that because this is the only account I use for this type of thing. If I make this takedown request on this account why do I need to confirm in some other way?

Post the source "Gallery" as your own user profile. You're probably already confirmed as the artist, after all.

There's no way to edit the source stuff now. I just left it blank when I submitted the request.

The takedown Form doesn't track the currently logged in user, if someone is logged in. I don't know why this was never added but I already requested it as a feature a week ago or so.

I'll take care of your takedown once I'm at my computer tomorrow.

Thnx, and yea this should have been a feature years ago.

1. this is 2 years old thread about issue not related to yours
2. did you follow all the instructions, like sending the verification code and everything?
3. are you sure that the takedown is not just pending? it can take up to several days for them since they are all handled manually by real people.

Also, please take some extra time to focus on your grammar and spelling. we all make mistakes, but your writing is really hard to follow.

And that's okay. My dad isn't very good at writing either, and he's one of the best people I know. Not everyone is good at writing and spelling.

So I'm not saying this to make you feel embarrassed or ashamed or anything... but I can tell this is important to you, so I'm trying to help.

Grammar can be really hard, but it helps us understand where one thought ends and another begins. If you have trouble, it's okay to guess.

To help more, make sure you explain as much as you can. What are you trying to do? what have you done? What isn't working?

So, for example: I'm trying to turn out the light so I can go to sleep. When I flip the switch, the light doesn't turn off!

or: I don't want my art here, but when I try to submit the take down form, it gives me an error. It says "Foxes have yiffed up the machine! Oh no! Error 5p0093"

Remember: the clearer you are, the more likely we can help you!

Think about something you're good at, and imagine if someone was telling you that they were trying to do that thing, but "it's not working"...

"I'm trying to install a doorknob, but it's not working..."
"I'm trying to do a kickflip, but it's not working."
"I'm trying to make pancakes, but it's not working!"

every time the next question will be "well what's happening? what's going wrong? how far have you gotten.. " so it's good to present all the information you can.

The takedown in question (or rather, both of them) has already been dealt with a few hours ago.
