EDIT: The tag implication saiyan -> dragon_ball_z (forum #266662) has been rejected by @gattonero2001.

The term saiyan was first used in DBZ but the saiyans themselves (well, Kakarot at least) have been there since the beginning.

A large portion of Super Saiyan art is parody art with someone else getting the aura and hair, so no.

Oozaru shouldn't imply saiyan. While yes, they're transformed saiyans, they're physically incredibly different, one being monkey humanoids while the other is an angry anthro ape/monkey. Keeping them separate would probably be best. Both should have dragon_ball implications, however

I was a bit uncertain about the implication for those reasons, so that'd be fair but I still think it's worth discussing.

Fair enough! Personally don't think it should imply saiyan, but it definitely needs an implication to dragon_ball. Would probably be good if oozaru had a primate implication

I keep thinking of more things that should be implicated so I keep updating the first post.

But that's not really super saiyan, is it? Other non-saiyan characters in similar super forms are not referred to as super saiyans in the show, not even Cell who mimics all the effects of it.

They're still tagged as Super Saiyan, and they still should be tagged as Super Saiyan.

Implicating majin seems risky, since it's Japanese for 'demon god' and has been used in numerous places (such as megaten series).

On the other hand, doesn't seem like it's been tagged for anything else...?

We could change the tag to majin_(dragon_ball)/majin_(dragon_ball_z), but yeah, it's generally just used for DB's Majin.

Speaking of Majin, the Buu and Majin Buu tags seem to be commonly used for random Majin characters regardless of whether or not they're actually Buu. I can go through and fix that.

Sorry for all the implications and aliases this has accrued. The DB tags are messier than I thought.

Apologies for the double post, but I made a Super Saiyan 4 tag because of how visually distinct it is from the regular Super Saiyan transformation.

Implications for Super Saiyan 4

• super_saiyan_4 -> dragon_ball_gt
• super_saiyan_4 -> saiyan

Unlike Super Saiyan, which is relentlessly parodied and which can be duplicated with basically any character by giving them spiky golden hair (or just the aura), Super Saiyan 4 makes the user a furrier Saiyan. You can't really have Super Saiyan 4 without making someone obviously a Saiyan.

Confusingly, I don't think it should implicate Super Saiyan, since it's an entirely different branch of transformation from a now non-canon sequel and very visually distinct.

When a tail is visible it's a fair thing to tag, but what about images like this?

Yes. This is just another case where a character wouldn't be tagged their canonical species due to the lack of detail. I kinda wish we had a tag for that, but I don't know what it'd be called.
