Is it right to take a privileged account from someone just because they don't like them i mean what the hell?

I was having an argument with an admin Kald i was mad that i got a neg on my account when at the end of the augment i sent this message

"ok thats fine way to miss quote me but what ever.

fuck it fix your own god damn tags and upload your own images i already have a privileged account why the fuck should i do any of this stupid crap when other people can do it for me i guess i have no other reason besides just doing it to help out but fuck that if im going to be dragged though the mud.

You lose your account status when an admin decides you lose your account status. But I think I half-remember a bug where you lose your priv if you get a neg. Chill out and PM Char or someone. But first, log off, go take some deep breaths and count to ten.

I am not sure how people get to be privileged, I always assumed it was from helping the site, but looking at your account info it looks like you just asked one day and got it. Not trying to be a asshole just confused.

And I would say that yeah, posting DNP twice would be the reason.

I also don't think that the admins owe you a thing. A "specific rule" or a second chance. It was "their" choice to demote you and that is within "their" rights, they don't even have to tell you why. You can appeal it, but this is not the place for it, PMs are. All you are doing here is making the problem worse.

You could have checked the list, you could have looked at the images you uploaded. Instead you get upset when called on doing wrong. And instead of just taking you "slap on the wrist" you decide to tell a admin you don't need to do what you "agreed" to do when becoming privileged?

If it was jsut because we don't like you, then no, it's absolutly not right at all. We do our bests to make sure that every administrator is fair in handing out punishments. will someone we like gain a little more leeway then someone we dislike? sure. WE're only human after all. But we do have rules, and not all of them are stated explicetly. If we stated everything that was agaisnt the rules, no one would read all of them because of how long it would take.

well, I don't knwo what happened in your arguement to that point, but... your negative was fairly given, there shouldn't have been an argument. a discussion perhaps, but not an arguement.

There seems to be some confusion over what a privilidged account means.
A priviledged account is traditionally given to a user who is AWESOME. Someone who's been doing an amazing job. Someone who uploads, who tags, who makes wiki pages and doens't get in trouble. We have very few priviledged users.
The last user to be upgraded has 1338 posts with only 20 deleted. He has 2280 tag edits. Before that? a guy with 3 posts and 9231 tag edits. Before that? 640 posts, 2 deletes,and 7765 tag edits.

Being privileded is something EARNED. and it is, as the name suggests, a priviledge. not a right.
We give peopel priviledged accounts when they have shown that they will use the wealth of tools available to them to make the site better. When they show that they have need of them.
Being priviledged does NOT mean "now I can sit back and relax and watch the PEONS do all the work that I don't have to. If you look at the 'top tag updaters' for hte last month? Most of them had upgraded accounts. They're making use of what we gave 'em. That's what we like to see.

Again, priviledged acounts are not things that 99.9% of users will ever see. They are a reward, generally, for good work. I"m not sure what you did to gain one... but we don't explicetly state how you can lose it, because it won't matter for so many of the users here.

However, I will draw your attention to e621:rules... of special note:

• Don't insult other users, intentionally start drama or otherwise be an obnoxious troll.-- We may be admin, but we are users also. We should not have to include that being rude to us is not a good idea.
• Avoid posting things covered by the avoid posting list. - the punishment for this was already given in the form of a warning, followed by a later negative. However, any rules breaking may or may not be 'reason' to remove a priviledged account as we see fit.
• Admins/mods reserve the right to ban any account at any time, and must provide reasoning for the ban if required by any other staff member. This is the big one. and it goes for any kind of account modifications, and plays in to the following...

Why? you wern't really using it for anything. you can still vote, favorite, upload, edit tags etc as you wish. You've never hit your upload cap. You've never hit your tag edit limit. As far as I know, you are not restricted in any way with your reduced status account.

Moses: I am not sure how people get to be privileged, I always assumed it was from helping the site, but looking at your account info it looks like you just asked one day and got it. Not trying to be a asshole just confused.

We're actually not sure either. The Admin who gave it couldn't remember off hand. You've got the right idea though--be a good helpful user, as described above :)

Nottelling3979: That kind of is what happened i do try and help out when i can but i was sick of getting DNP i find all of my uploads on rual34 and ychan so i don't know about the DNP most of the time

dnp is mentioned all over the place. especially in the rules. All FIVE of your deleted images had the names printed RIGHT ON THEM via artist water mark or easily readable signature and ALL of them were easily searchable in the avoid_posting list. teh DNP list is really important. that's why it's there in the wiki at the top, in bold print.

The reason we have the records system is to get an idea for what a user does. If I warn someone privately, no one says that ippiki will know and he might punish for what I was quietly warning about. Or the other way around. And when a user breaks a rule, we look at their history. repeated offenses are worse then first strikes.

In your case, you'd disobeyed the same rule twice, and gotten warned for being uncivil in your comments. then you were rude to Kald, showed that you had no care for the spirit behind an upgraded account, and showed that you were possibly the sort who might abuse their upgraded account if they got angry. Use the upgraded taggign tools to mass delete tags? Use the lack up upload limit to post irrelevant, or illegal, or DNP images? Oh yes. We've seen people do it before. It's not pretty when they're a normal user. It's even worse when someone DOES have the power of an upgraded account.

I'm goign to post this now I"m not even done reading the first page of this thread. So pardom me if I'm redundant or address anything already addressed.
