Topic: Rules and Implactions for tagging Copyright.

How does one go about tagging copyrights?

What if there is no copyright? The tag always results in "INVALID" no matter how I go about it.

What if the piece is apart of a larger group, that goes by a name? Like a project/series. Would that fall under the copyright tag?

Could you be more specific? You're clearly having difficulties, but its' hard to help troubleshoot/answer questions without more particular details.

Honestly in most cases copyrights are taken care of by the implication system and you typically don't need to worry about it. If a work doesn't have any copyrights to tag, you just don't tag anything - you don't need to tag the nonexistence of a copyright. If you're trying to do so, that might explain why you're coming up with invalid tags.

Otherwise, you tag copyrights just the same as you tag any other tag.

Which tag are you trying to add as a copyright?
Keep in mind, copyright:foo and general:foo are the same tag, as the prefix is unused in tags, so you'll need to specify what foo would be with a suffix. For example, foo_(copyright) or foo_(<source>).

Considering everything is initally done manually, I can understand big name copyrights already being added to the system. But small time companies may not be in the system yet.

In that case, add the company's tag, customized if need be, and then go yo the tags list and change that tag's type to copyright.
