the search engines ability to search for .gif, .swf, .png, .pdf, .jpg, .jpeg, and .avi is great and all but to do this you first need to go to the tags page, checkmark the include empty tags checkbox, search for the file extension, then click the one you want.

it doesnt stress me enough how confused I was when I tried to use this feature the first time but it stressed me even further when I found out if you add another tag it will go to an error 404 page, not only that but searching for file extensions is only supported by page 1 so if you try to browse any further you also get an error 404...

please, I beg you fix this right away.

Erm, you could post this in the Bug report thread

To search for file extensions, on the search box type "type:ext". Supported extensions, as far as I know, are gif, png, swf and jpg. If a problem arises, such as an Error 404, the only workaround I know, and that has worked, is adding a space at the end of your search.

So, for example, when you search for "solo female type:swf" (flash animations with only a female), adding a space at the end, so it is "solo female type:swf ", will get rid of the error and show you the results

doesnt help though, when i go to pg 2 the error still occurs... which is pretty major, also I finally got a wiiU for faster communication on e621, imported from japan to north korea, which is great news because i can now watch my posts, comments, forum suggestions, etc. very easily!

Oh, yeah, that's a small problem. Try putting "type:ext" first. This, again, serves as a workaround :)

only a temporary one if the site undergoes heavy load, then you have to refresh the search bar again when the site goes online again.
