Topic: What to do when someone removes their fursona-tag from art with their fursona?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

So I added a character tag to a post at e621,
but then i checked the tag history and noticed the character's owner (person-A) had previously removed that character tag (fursona-A).
(Fursonas of person-A and person-B are both in the image. Names of both owners are printed along with copyright-symbol.)

I assume person-A removed it is because (it seems that) person-A and person-B are no longer together.

Is the correct course of action to re-remove person-A's fursona tag?

Otherwise person-A might get annoyed and submit a takedown request.

EDiT: The first artwork i noticed was nude spanking artwork (rated Explicit).
I poked around and found a 2nd piece (at e621) where person-A had removed their fursona-tag (artwork of them clothed and dancing; rated Safe)
Also found a third piece with both furson tags and no one attempted remove fursona-A tag. (artwork also of them clothed and dancing; rated Safe)

If one removed the others character tag report it for tagging abuse and let the mods deal with it as they see fit. If they remove their own character tag I don't really think it's that big a deal

If there are identifying characteristics about their fursona, the rule is TWYSNWYK. It'd be a shame to see the artwork get taken down, if the person really wants to be that way about it. I personally dislike that attitude/mentality, too. But sooner or later someone is bound to end up re-adding the character's tag anyways, as would otherwise be appropriate.

Thanks.

Switched tag for the nude artwork to anonymous_character. (and started anonymous_character wiki, since was undefined. Made it similar to anonymous_artist wiki)

Left fursona-A tag with the clothed dancing artwork because
a) artwork-#3 that was also clothed and dancing did NOT get fursona-A tag removed
b) had already copied description (with link to person-A's FA) from FA to e621's Description field.
(and i was like ... "Um, going to have to edit or blank the Description? Arg, nevermind!")

Ooh, I didn't realize we had an officially sanctioned anonymous_artist tag. Extending that to characters seems like the right idea to me.

It might not be a bad idea to POLITELY approach the person and ask about things.

Please don't be angry or accusatory. There are very few situations where anger helps a situation and this one is probably a sensitive painful matter.

They may be unfamiliar with how e621 works as well, and simply didn't see the other image that they left their names on.

Or maybe the art was drawn of them without their permission. Or maybe it was uploaded as revenge after breaking up with them.

Dunno. Just approach it gently.

And in my opinion, offer to help: from what *I* see, it looks like the user removed their fursona name from art which a specific other character -- offer, in that first message, to replace their character name with "anonymous_character" on all of those images.

Don't need to drag them back into their old relationships again, y'know? it's a few minutes of trouble for us, it's a lot more for him.
