Topic: [Feature] Tag What You Hear

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
Tag What You Hear means exactly what it says on the tin, for example; if you hear piano music you would tag it as piano_(sound) and music.
Why would it be useful?
There are some animations with audio that would be easier to search by sound tags.
What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
None.

(FYI: I don't think this is a feature request. A feature request would involve changing some of the code on this site. Unless you're suggesting that "Sound" should be a new tag category like "Artist" or "Copyright"?)

It's already possible to search for sounds by using the sound tag:

I'm not sure how useful piano_(sound) would be when we can already search piano sound

having a sound equivalent for <language>_text could be useful

Text and audio technically are handled as external information and tags in proper use seem to be sound, no_sound and music, just to indicate if post has stuff or not and then content is untagged. Technically tags like dialogue can work for both text and sound and are in use.

Also reminds me a bit of forum #256766

we still tag what the text is, though, we just don't use it as evidence for what's going on in the image. english_text, profanity, etc.

The tag piano is for when a piano is visible. The tag piano_(sound) is for sound, regardless if a piano is ever shown.

Does anyone care about this?

We do have much more flexible tagging categories on beta site which we are busy testing and employing, so I would almost think of possibility of this in there. Because text is also counted as external information, but is being utilized into upcoming lore tags, see forum #283537, but audio unless there's speech isn't going to fit to lore category.

I personally still aren't againts this as we do have a lot of audio containing posts which would be then easier to find, but currently the stance is still that audio is only tagged with sound and nothing else.
