Topic: Question for NSFW artists - How do you market your artwork/artpacks?

Posted under Art Talk

For NSFW artists who sell their artworks online, how do you take care of your artworks from impatient horny hands who don't have the money?

Given that this site has a rule against paid content, but other sites probably don't have that, how do you still defend your paid artwork from leakers?

Asking for future reference.

I'm not an artist myself, but from observation the only thing I've seen that works is having personalised watermarks on every image, and constantly scouring the internet for leaks so you can cut them off as soon as they occur.
Though from one example I can think of, the only way to really cut off leaks is a combination of punishing your entire viewerbase and lowering your work quality to the point that people no longer desire leaks.

It would be nice if all and every school teached basic marketing, because I see more and more people trying to sustain themselves with crowdfunding and advertising means, which means that selling your stuff is constantly more crucial factor.

As for the first question, I can answer with confident that simply offer all everything you do for free, then simply offer additional things for those who do pay for you, were most acceptable forms have been timed exclusives, ultra HD versions, source files and/or WIP versions.

This way those who really are only in it for the porn aspect of what you do, are pretty commonly just fine with free versions. I mean, anyone ever visited piracy porn sites? Images are the crustiest JPG you can find and videos are always 240p. These people do not care about quality but your fans might and those who do not feel glad they get something extra for supporting you.

Even better is that if you can make your audience to actually want to support you as person, creating community with discord server and all that. This way the support isn't just to get that sweet exclusive or HD version of something, but more about genuinely giving you money to see you succeed.

Of course if you can, it's always extremely good idea to get rid of leaks, especially if they are rewards for those who do give you money so they don't feel cheated out, so if it's on site with DMCA, just utilize that. However going on war againts sites containing pirated material with all guns blazing usually does not gain you anything and you are wasting your time and making more enemies. Try more clever approaches, try to win everyone over instead, because you can see there's clearly group of people who like your stuff but just don't want or can't pay for it (hence why releasing all everything you do freely at least in some format is extremely good start).

welp, tbh i dont care a lot of leakers, if i say myself that is "very good marketing" that people wants to really share paid works to people everywhere, man that is the best / worst thing to have for being artist.

but of course is a bad thing, a sure welcoming one but still, is something that most people will have once they reach somewhat of a peak fan and followers, so yeah, u can DPN all your works that you dont post or people ask for, the least thing you want to have is people that "for your behaviour" stop following you just because u dont like to let them share some "not good but good" art, say someone took a sketch u dont want to post, and you took it down cuz personal reasons, even if the work is good, it sometimes gets even more attention, but here is the catch, is a kink that you are not used or like at all, only there should be DNP, if you want.

the best option is just make better works, better quality and such, the leakers might do their jobs, but if you can maintain posting stuff that is worth paying for, they can just take part and say "this is what you would expect if you pay le monehz" sorta things.

or just plain post one of your best works after posting it on your paid areas
a week or month later, this might increase the chances to have more people who could pay good money.

wish you luck fellow artist that just started, is not an easy path, but at the end, it will be worth ~ >wO
