Topic: Opinion on Furaffinity's new server, logo and update?

Posted under General

I went on the site and noticed that they changed there site alot it now looks like DeviantArt.
I prefer the old server but it's something we have to get use to.
I don't know why they changed it.

If you have an account you can use the classic template instead of the new one. It's in your account settings.

Oh thank you I didn't know that

For now at least, mostly because the update was frontend and almost nothing was changed in backend, so it's still same old site with same old bugs and problems with just some fancier paint on top.

They did say that the classic template would receive no support or fixes for anything going forward in an older announcement. In fairness, they have also been working on this template for a number of years (I want to say since 2017?) but only just recently forced it to be the default template for even older users opting for the classic one. I'm personally not a huge fan of the current template because everything looks bloated and the text is massive, finding myself zooming the page out to decrease the amount of space taken up by text and emptiness. While it looks better on mobile, I don't use the site on mobile and still much prefer the more condensed look of the classic template for desktop use.

i like the new site design, i've used it since it was in beta lol. the new logo took a while to get used to though!

I like the new site design. It's just that the logo looks too garish and too... 2011 in my opinion. The old logo, while minimalist and 2014-is, looks a bit better in design

I like how it's easier to navigate with things like the whole "recent six images" thing being on the right side of the site. The removal of things like the "Next" and "previous" buttons whenever an artist batch uploaded pictures that are related to one another for a whole month after launch, I did not enjoy however. The tags also look nicer, albeit me feeling like tags should be included on every picture, even if it is just basic tags like species tags and general topic tags.

It's going to take me a while to get used to it. It just feels a little bit cluttered to me. x_x

New paint is not even that fancy. It's actually a bit gaudy :P

Tags?
Oooooh, you mean the 2-5 semi-random words that can be found on a 10th of the posts. Yeah those look nice.

I like the new UI, it's nice that they update every once in a while but don't overdo it like Deviantart did. I'm not referring to Eclipse, that looks kinda cool, but the overdevelopment of the site itself, the ability to overcustomize your profile, and how much more slowly it loads than FA.

I tag properly. None of my tags are random. And it's probably more than a 10th

The new design is much better than the old one, it's also much more mobile friendly which is pretty important nowdays.

I heard alot of people like the new one and thats ok we all have our opinions

I can’t even access the site. I know there was a DDOS yesterday, but it was supposed to have been taken care of by now.

I am indifferent. I don't really browse that site, so any changes to features or any unfixed bugs are pretty much unknown to me.

If you can't currently access the site you might have to refresh or clear your cache, it is up and performing just fine right now.

You're not the average fa user. And while I did exaggerate (quite a lot, I admit, I looked at some random post) There's almost no tagging convention, and if you look at the tags, some a lot of them are just phrases split up, meaning that most fa users don't even know how the sites tagging system works.

I think it's more that they're busy or just don't care. It's easy to bypass without doing anything. I know artists who upload 10-30 images at a time. Others use a special service to upload to multiple sites at once.

Pardon for necro-bumping this, but as you know, FA again has changed their logo to a orange/yellow splat with a pawprint in the middle.
The same time after Dragoneer brought the site back from IMVU.

Personally, I find the new logo appealing than the previous one, though I would know your opinion on this.

I kinda miss the old fox tail logo, but the new logo from the split with IMVU looks alright (didn't notice it much initially).

I've never liked the old logo, I can't see an F, only an A. It makes it seem to me like it's a logo for a website that has a name that begins with A.

Welp, they managed to get Ruffle integration, but 90% of the flashes do not work regardless and the new flash uploads are disabled, so animators now have zero options of uploading their work there.

i have to admire the audacity of anyone bold enough to wear a furaffinity shirt in public

I'm mostly just looking at that and thinking that does anyone, even furries, make the connection of that t-shirt and furaffinity? It's a paw on rainbow colored splat, it tells almost nothing. At least e6 hexagon with ears and blue/orange colors have some level of regocnizeability.

They shared a prototype orange splat version, but I have to say that it doesn't tell much to the average non-furs.

I'm honestly not sure how I would react if I saw this in public.

Not sure if it's a bug, but for bonus points, on my end (I use classic because the new site looks like ass to me) they seem to have arbitrarily decided to centre the banner for no reason, and it has made the entire layout look disgusting.
