Requested feature overview description.
When new user lands on any e621 page for the first time, having landing page with bried explain of the purpose and rules of the website and link to edit the blacklist before entering the website (with help of forum #270435).

This is pretty common with many 18+ websites.

After this, user should not be bothered with this landing page ever again and logged in users should never have this either as they should've read the rules and guidelines during registeration and their blacklist is located elsewhere.

Why would it be useful?
This would make this much clearer for the first time visitor that what they are about to experience with ability to block the content if they so desire. This would act as buffer if someone with no knowledge of us lands on most downvoted explicit image for the first time but also informal of what our actual aim is and what control user has over the content they see.

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?

• Any pages that guests can see and/or has visible posts content on them.

Sounds good to me, other than a "bried explain," I'd rather give them a "brief explanation" :P

Of course, landing pages tend to rely on cookies, meaning if they delete them and then come back they will hit it again, but that's a fine exception. Including a link to E926 to "hide anything potentially risky for public viewing" may also be helpful.

From what I'm understanding, I assume the landing page would be implemented in a fashion similar to Paheal's 18+/cookies disclaimer?

Yes. Extremely simple and non-distracting for those who do not fucking care.

If you implement this anti-user feature, please do it in a way which doesn't redirect or block content. Meaning if you have a few tabs open and restart your browser with all cookies deleted on closing, those tabs should reload to the same URL instead of being redirected to another page. The original HTML should still be downloaded and loaded behind the legal disclaimer notice instead of a simple script which reloads the current page after you click accept.

In other words, make it possible for an ad-blocker to block it.

To me it does sound like javascript is the best approach. This would make it so that page doesn't need reloading and would be extremely easy to adblock or just disable javascript and it will never pop up (I actually do this for couple websites, including Paheal). This is also why I said that being logged in disables this as someone with account is most likely aware of what we have here and how we operate (at least hopefully).

I know this is one of those features which can be extremely annoying when done incorrectly, but at the same time, we do host content that has shock value for your avarage person, so at least for me it does sound like nice gesture to at least warn them before they go further down. Also if we keep it as single window, having cross at the corner would be the "I don't fucking care" option.

+1. I have to wonder how many potential contributors get a bad first impression, and think "I don't want to be associated with such a degenerate place". Same for artists who decide they don't want their work here.

A mission statement/brief defense of the way things work here, and an opportunity to blacklist, both help with that.

It could be implemented annoyingly only on https://e621.net/. I always go straight to https://e621.net/forum or some other page anyway.

On other pages you could have a permanent line of text within the top of the news banner: "CLICK HERE if you are new to e621" leading to a wiki page with all the info on it. You already have to hide the news banner every time you clear cookies or it updates.

This would kinda defeat the purpose of the whole idea.
