Reason:

The definition in the wiki already states that "A female character wearing a strapon and using the sex toy to engage in anal sex with a receiving male character."

In other words, pegging can't take place without a female and a male doing something lewd together. The tag already officially implies "male" - oughtn't it imply "male/female" (and therefore, by implication, also "female") as well?

I continue to say pegging should be for any female using a strapon to penetrate the anus, or heck, anybody of any gender doing so.

I agree with this and am in general against gendered tags for acts when that's not the entire point of the tag.

It is probably no longer needed, now that various *_penetrating tag exists. I'd rather see pegging aliased away (to anal_penetration?), than see it misused for generic 'penetrating with a strap-on'.

Pegging is a role-reversal kink. If it's not female-on-male, then it's not pegging, simple as that.

TLDR: *_penetrated are still undertagged as fuck, and I'd say until we get them to a majority of the penetration tags they can not replace anything.

The term was coined in a contest ran by Dan Savage, and quoting the results: "Peg” is a woman’s name and, thus, evokes the biological sex of the person doing the pegging.
