Topic: Tag alias: chubby -> slightly_chubby

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

(ran manually because of current aliases)

This tag often gets tagged for characters that should be under overweight or above. I think this might help clarify usage a bit.

Thoughts?

You are correct in
pointing out the oft-incorrect usage

It is done. The main wikis have been updated to use the new tag.

seems like attempted political correctness to me. The first page of this new tag is already filled with pics that could easily qualify as obese.

-1, but it's already done anyway lol

The point of the tag name change is that people constantly misunderstood what it was supposed to be tagged for (slightly chubby characters) and often tagged it with overweight/obese. This is an attempt to clarify usage and make the tag more reliable.

Yep, those are mistags.
There are some users who consistently tag obese as chubby. I suppose they'll have to be reported if they still don't catch on, after this change.

For some reason I've always found such mistags hard to fix. It's difficult to tell where's the exact line between chubby and overweight.

Here's one trick that I've used for the cleanup: slightly_chubby order:random. Look at the thumbnails on the first row and find the fattest one, then check if it should be in an another category. Repeat for the next row, etc.

Is there a more convenient method for Members to mass edit outside of entering edit mode and copying and pasting or using my browser's search function and deleting tags from every post?

The API would give you more flexibility here, but you'd have to know how to make use of it.

Other than that, as a member I've found edit mode with command/ctrl + V and a few well-tailored searches (use solo, feral, and notice the uploader/try to figure out patterns of who might be adding the tags) are one of the quickest ways to reach the hourly limit. Just go through the most blatant ones and ignore the rest until you can look at the full pic in more detail in a new window. Some projects may benefit from command/ctrl + + (browser zoom) as it makes the thumbnails slightly easier to see.

I know I'm late to the party, but I'd like to weigh in. Slightly chubby and chubby are not the same thing. They're different levels of the same thing. Aliasing this was a bad idea.
Want a little bit of chub, but not too much? Too bad. Slightly_chubby and chubby are in the same boat. That's the situation you created.
