Until now I've been tagging things with the tag nipple_ring when I see them, however I just saw on wiki article here for it that it's a defunct tag? I was wondering why they should just be tagged as nipple_piercing instead when nipple rings aren't the only kind of nipple piercing.

The most common other kind of nipple piercing I see on the site are these barbell looking piercings. As far as I know don't have a tag though.

A lot of piercing tags used to be aliased away, and most of the wikis for piercings were never updated. I've been meaning to do them for a while but never got around to it. I would just call those nipple_barbell as that's the common name. I think an admin meant nipple_stud to be used for those, maybe, since that's an implied tag? But that's not a good tag name and I wouldn't use that. If someone wants to be pedantic and say barbells can come in different shapes or it's only for the ball and bar type then they should just tag the other types by their name and not lump them together.
