(Sorry for using non-standardized form for submitting a tag alias suggestion. I was blocked from doing so by an error message saying the tag was already aliased, possibly from the pending alias suggestion forum #143186)

Also found a tasteful_nude tag that's being used in the same way as tasteful_nudity. If tasteful_nudity ends up getting aliased to invalid_tag, then tasteful_nude should probably be aliased to it as well.

Alias:
tasteful_nudity -> invalid_tag
tasteful_nude -> invalid_tag

tasteful_nudity -> nude

+1, but go through each one manually to see if it qualifies for a different nudity tag like casual_nudity.

Actually yeah. What this guy said. Might still be a good idea to check the ones with the tag right now to see if there are related tags to use instead for that specific post. And that would have to be before aliasing.

The last time I checked, at least 20% of the posts wouldn't have fit under the nude tag. It was tagged for things such as topless 'nudity', mostly_nude, etc. So aliasing it isn't possible.

1st) Cleaning that ≥ 20% posts Genjar mentioned.

2nd) Aliasing the tag temporarily to 'nude'.

3rd) Unaliasing and subsequently invalidating it.

Talking about the tag itself, I can see what it was supposed to be and the utility it would have (if worked); I wonder if there is a way of availing this idea and creating a new tag for posts that feature non-sexual nudity, a tag with a better name (because, frankly, 'tasteful' and 'artistic' are both quite subjective to begin with).

This is partially a bump for the alias suggestion, as well as a status update on the tasteful_nudity tag.

The tag has seen a resurgence of sorts over the last year, increasing to around 70 to 90 posts tagged. Unlike before, there doesn't seem to be as much sexually explicit or suggestive posts tagged with tasteful_nudity, however I remain skeptical of this tag's practical use. To me the tag still seems like a redundant and more subjective variation of casual_nudity, but I'd like to know how other folks felt about the tag before doing anything with the newer tasteful_nudity posts.

If it's meant for non-sexual nudity, then nude rating:safe or casual_nudity work. And if someone's looking for nudity that's not blatantly explicit, then nude pinup rating:questionable does the job.

So yeah, this still seems worthless. Dunno why it is getting tagged.

Though it does make me wonder if we need some tag such as... technically_explicit. As I see it, the only unique portion of that tag is rating:explicit tasteful_nudity: posts that are technically explicit, but so tame compared to rest of the explicit content that they seem out of place.

I propose we tag all explicit pictures on this site with technically_explicit since they're technically all explicit! But more seriously, if we create technically_explicit for just tasteful_nudity, it's worth noting it might get mistagged for barely_visible_genitalia and x_anus.

And realistic sheaths on feral horses, yes. I was thinking that those all would be included in such tag.

Wasn't a serious suggestion, I just can't think of any current way to search for that subset of posts (rating:e tasteful_nudity) without the tasteful_nudity tag. Not that that's enough of a reason to keep the tag, since it's being tagged mostly for other things.

Bumping, as well as adding a few pertinent tags to the list for invalidation.

I've found a tasteful tag that seems to be as subjective as the tasteful_nudity tag. I also think artistic_nudity should be aliased away for it's subjectivity, and since artistic_nude is already aliased to tasteful_nudity.
