Topic: [BUG] new alias/ implications not changing all posts

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Bug overview description.
olders posts are not being automatically updated to new tag implications/ aliases.
What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
the tags on old posts, less often on newer posts
What is the expected behavior?
new implications/ aliases eventually change tags for all posts
What actual behavior is given instead?
old posts stagnate with old tags until manually updated
Time of incident (if applicable).
Best non-random guess I can give, posts made 2012 and earlier, but it's happened to newer posts too
Can you reproduce the bug every time?
issue only exists for older posts.
What steps did you take to replicate this bug?

Bug caused by new alias/ implication, probably only larger scale ones though

Note: Searching conflicting tags (cum -genital_fluids) somtimes says there are no inconsistencies. I don't know if that specific search still does it or not.

Note 2: I have been tagging older posts so they get updated. Tag history . Even if you add nothing, the post will be updated with new tags. I have never added "Bodily fluids", "animal genitalia", or "jewelry" myself, and I did not add tags that would imply them that were not already there. They were added automatically.

The aliases and implications are all processed normally and directly, but they do not generate tag history entries. The implications and alias changes are simply attributed to the poor soul that creates a new tag history entry, but are performed before then.

I was under the impression that a new alias automatically checked through all relevant posts

mind you it has to go threw a lot, and sometimes they just don't register until someone touches it

They do, the aliases and implications are applied to all posts "directly" (at a rate of 3-5 posts per second after approval), but the change won't show up in the tag edit histories unless someone actually edits the posts.
