So, the current aliases of:
futa > herm
futanari > herm
futa_on_male > herm_on_male
futa_on_futa > herm_on_herm
futa_on_female > herm_on_female
cause more incorrect herm tags than people who just don't know the right "gender" tag.

The problem is that in Hentai futanari can be either with or without a vagina.
So, herm and dickgirl would both qualify as "futa" or "futanari".
People who don't know that we don't use that tag frequently tag images as futa regardless of actual genital configuration.
If we instead alias them as invalid tags then they will be quicker to clean up, and won't result in incorrect tags.

Thoughts?

Futanari literally means "dual form" but is used for hermaphrodite in Japanese. Western fans use the word as a blanket term for anything involving a penis with breasts. The use is a bastardization much like how Hentai is used for "eastern-style cartoon porn" though the actual word means "pervert" and the Japanese just use "adult anime" for said subject.

Japanese use "Newhalf" for transexuals without a vaginal opening.

I good clarification, but not one that really addresses the incorrect tag issue.

I'm not sure if the current setup for "futa" tags causes or solves more problems, but I think I'm in favor of invalidating them.

Disambiguation pages work great for some things, but I think with this topic it might be too much like a powder keg. I think it would be abused, people fishing for new gender rulings when they didn't like the last one, or with someone trying to use it as a "undefined gender" option, or just plain causing confusion between gender_(disambiguation) vs the ambiguous_gender tag, etc. Because gender tags are the single most contended tags we have, I think we'd thank ourselves later if we kept it simple.

Now, should the same be done to "shemale"? It's currently aliased to --> dickgirl but I suspect it's been causing the same kind of regular mistags that "futa" causes to herm. Because, like "futa", a lot of people just see terms like "shemale" to mean "breasts + dick" regardless whether or not there's also a pussy. So, I'd just be surprised if that alias actually works any better than the "futa" one does.

Shemale is more commonly used for transgender males(pre-op), something we'd tag as dickgirl.
It's not on my regular tag fixing list so I don't see it like I do the futa/herm issue, but I'd bet money it's less frequent of an issue.

I feel I should point out that the proposed solution does impact searching, anyone searching futa would get the results for intersex.
This is actually less impact than my originally proposed solution, but it bears mentioning.
I think that the tagging issues and cleanup that would be avoided outweigh the search impact though.

I suggest to wait with aliasing these tags till implications on forum #141236 are either accepted or not. (Correct me if they were rejected already.) If they are accepted then probably there should be aliases like:

futa_on_futa -> intersex_on_intersex
futa_on_female -> intersex_on_female
etc.

Alright, approved aliasing:

futa to --> intersex
futanari to --> intersex
futa_on_futa to --> intersex_on_intersex
futa_on_male to --> intersex_on_male
futa_on_female to --> intersex_on_female

Because futa gets tagged for both dickgirls and herms and it was making keeping those tags cleaned up harder than it needed to be. This way they are invalidated, but still in the ballpark. As long as the wikis help point the way with a list of the real tags they should be using, then it should be enough for searchers who want to refine their results.
