Topic: The wiki for 'male_focus' tag is locked

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

The tag male_focus is locked for some reason. I had wanted to go through the wikis for the *_focus tags, but male_focus would be excluded for being locked. I'm hoping someone who is able to unlock it can remedy this issue, and I thank you kindly for unlocking the wiki if you can.

What's wrong about it?

Or, y'know, put it in some code so somebody with permission to edit it can do so:

This is used when multiple individuals are in an animation or image yet the main focus clearly goes to just one (or more) [[male]] character(s).

This should [i]not[/i] be used on [[solo]] pictures or pictures only featuring male characters.

That's true, so long as someone can go through and edit the wiki so that it corresponds to the format of the other *_focus wikis. That's what's important.

Though personally, I'm not quite sure why the wiki was locked to begin with. None of the other gender-based *_focus wikis are locked, and there didn't seem to be any prior vandalism to the wiki after checking through the edit history.

Former Staff

From what I remember, there was a staff decision that male_focus should be tagged even for male-only posts. But those kept getting edited, so it was locked to the official version.

female_focus and such shouldn't include the "[not for] pictures only featuring female characters"-text either. Unless the standard for that tag group has changed again.

I'm not sure if that standard for the *_focus tags has changed (I had always thought those tags were for posts with multiple genders in one post, but I guess I was mistaken).

Either ways, here's the most recent reformatted version of the male_focus wiki. I'll be much appreciative if someone with the ability could copy/paste this to the male_focus wiki.

Edit for 'male_focus' wiki:
This is used when multiple individuals are in an animation or image yet the main focus clearly goes to just one (or more) [[male]] character(s).

This should [i]not[/i] be used on [[solo]] pictures or pictures only featuring male characters.

This post is doubly focused, both pertaining to separate locked wiki posts. I decided to place both points here instead of addressing two similar problems in separate forum posts.

---

The first pertains to male_focus since the wiki page hasn't been reedited (I'm mostly bringing this back up after remembering it after stumbling into the other problem described below). I also noticed I forgot to put the above reformatting to the page in code, and thus made that alteration.

-

The second (and most of my question) pertains to tag_group:background. I was going to edit the wiki page but found the page was locked. I was gonna add some missing tags like blurred_background, pokéball_background, and tan_background (among others), as well as editing some formatting to ease navigating the page. Basically, stuff that isn't as simple as the copy/paste with some edits I had done for male_focus. I'm kinda confused why this wiki in particular was locked, especially since the tag_group:* pages are usually used for collecting and organizing groups of tags, and as far as I can tell there aren't any other tag_group:* wikis that are locked.
