Using artist:masahikoko should work.

Edit: Went and added it but Masahikoko is already a tag so you should be able to just add masahikoko as a regular tag with no add in.

I'm absolutely amazed how even after all these years people do not know what's the proper procedure on changing the tags type. It has not changed ever.

So as reminder:

Every tag is equal. Once you have a tag e.g. artist, it's by default considered to be generic tag. However tags properties can be changed, so the artist tag can be changed to show up under copyright and if that turns out incorrect, it can be changed to be species. Tag stays the same, posts where it is stays the same, just the position on the tag list changes under the category it belongs once the property is changed. As such, you cannot have our tag artist under copyright and species at the same time, it needs to be either or.

To change the type of tag, you'll need to use tags page, found under Tags link on the menu at the top of the page. Search for the tag that you are meaning to change the type of and under the Type column, press (edit). From dropdown select the type you want the tag to be and Save. This window also has the checkbox to lock the tag to specific types and this can be utilized by admins.

Do note that if the tag already has 100 posts with that tag or type is locked by admin, as vandalism protection you have to ask admin to change the type and provide reasons and proof for that.

Alternative method is to use art:<TAG> or artist:<TAG> prefixes when tagging the post. This will change the tags type automatically when you hit upload on new post or save tag changes on exsisting post. However thanks to huge amounts of accidental vandalism this was causing, this convinience is limited to posts which have not been yet tagged with the tag or users with level janitor or above.

Earlier many also stated to use _(artist) suffix, but this only worked because it was oversight in the code. Suffix should not be used unless the artists name can be easily confused with something else.

The user is relatively new to the site, and the rules and formatting tools are not as easy to find for the general user as those who have been here for a long time.

I get that it seems simple and even pedantic for you to re-explain over and over again but its a legitimate question with no quick and easy way to find it if you dont know how to navigate the site. You don't need to be rude about it.

I know, that's why I'm also bit confused as to why this hasn't been made more apparent by admins in some manner and hopefully me explaining it in many places has the effect of people accidentally stumpling on this instructions rather than comments telling to use _(artist).

Because I have seen so many comments over and over again explaining to use _(artist) that it wouldn't surprise me if someone tried that, didn't work and gets confused.

Perhaps there should be a sticky made on the forums that explains tag changing?

It was stickied for half a year or so but only recently was taken off sticky, mind you if you click edit on an image here is a link which leads to a howto wiki which basically explains all the tags on the site, how to tag on the site, how tags work on the site, and goes on to explain everything else.
