Implicating big_dom_small_sub → domination

Reason:

Having a "dom" and a "sub" in a picture implies there must be some form of domination.

EDIT: The tag implication big_dom_small_sub -> dominant (forum #278687) has been approved by @Rainbow_Dash.

Maybe it's just tagged wrong, but this tag is used a bit more loosely than the name would imply, i.e. the top being smaller in a pic with two characters who aren't really in a domination scenario.

It's all just misinformed people mistagging stuff, and this issue is present in all dom/sub related tags. For whatever reason there is this extremely common misconception that dom means top and sub means bottom.

Maybe it calls for another pair of tags so that people have something else to go with in those instances.

I think it has some usage as-is.
You can still have a more-dominant/active partner without going all the way into domination territory, and shifting it over to something like the penetrating/penetrated tagstyle is going to lose the context for cases where the dominant partner is the penetrated partner.

Huh, I've always understood it more like big_top_small_bottom, but now that you mention it, I guess it makes more sense that this would specifically be about bdsm.

The tag has long been hijacked for general size difference content, though, and at 20k posts, I doubt anyone is going to want to go through the hassle of cleaning it up.

Well this is obviously pretty subjective, but I've always seen size difference sex as being already like, 70% of the way to dominance. If the bigger partner is holding the other down that's good enough for me.

But has it? There can be a dominant sexual partner without being in the territory of fetish-domination.
To clarify, i recognise that dominant implies that there is a partner who is in control, but I don't expect to see the domination tag until the intensity of control hits fetish-level.

penetrating/penetrated should definitely be dis-associated with dom/sub though.

There's a difference between "dominant", which is kind of associated with a character, and domination, which is happening in a particular image.

But the tagging system doesn't currently recognize this (dominant is aliased to domination), and I don't know if it should, it might be too subtle for people.

I'm in favor of creating a larger_penetrating and smaller_penetrated pair to fill the role that's not intended for big_dom_small_sub and small_dom_big_sub. It would be a bit of a project but I think there is a need for it.

This might be a good time to mention a thread I started earlier this year (forum #269658) where I came to the conclusion that >80% of the posts with the x_dom_x_sub tags lack any dom/sub themes.
