Topic: is it okay to post screencaps of threads with relevant pics?

Posted under General

I know it's usually not kosher here to post screencaps, but since Tumblr asks are okay, I figure this was worth asking about.

It's a terrific new pic, tho the original joke (plus the other one in the tags) would get lost in the shuffle. Of course, I would upload just the drawing as well and set it as its child post. The standard procedure would be to add those jokes in the latter's description box, but it would be simpler and better to just post the screencap.

Screencaps aren't allowed, mostly due to the quality nightmare they introduce.

The posts you mention are done by the artist, so they can draw a full-sized image then add the tumblr thing on top, some even draw it, rather than screencap.

For images like that it'd be better to upload the full-sized image and put the other stuff in the description, maybe with a link to the post. You could screenshot it, upload it somewhere, then link that in the description, though at that point you might as well just put the original link there.

If you posted a screencap of that I guarantee it would be deleted as inferior to the actual image. The opinion of the public means nothing in this situation, everything pupslut told you a month ago is on point.

I already posted it 35 minutes ago. I bumped this to ask about whether the video in my previous tweet would be within the acceptable boundaries of shitposting. I don't want the mods to get PTSD.

Original, definitely use description, sample post #2004085 and post #2030855.
This is also generally why I do copy original descriptions to begin with, because in many cases, the context does matter to the actual image.

I guess I should just bump this thread to ask the public about this. I'm not one to shy away from shitposting, but there are some lines over which even I am reticent to stick my ass and pinch a loaf.

uploading_guidelines#bad

Bad things to upload:
  • Irrelevant photographs: Any photograph that isn't of traditional artwork or manipulated to contain furry characters.
    • photos of fursuits, statues, plushies, dakimakura, tattoos, graffiti, painted plates, etc. are all irrelevant to us

Discord is for shitposting, site is not.

While I'm here, I'd just like to say I'm tailholetroubled about the Core-chan pic I uploaded being deleted for being "human only". I mean, it's radioactive matter in humanoid form.

Obviously I can't see the image if it's been deleted, but skin colour doesn't count towards being human or not, the character would specifically need non-human physical features.

Edit:
Just wanted to include a link to the guidelines regarding human only things:

You can check the source link. there is several human corpses and one plain human but like very light colored.
