Aliasing us_flag → stars_and_stripes
Link to alias

Reason:

Another name people might use for the flag of the United States of America.

Related Aliases:

united_states_flag -> stars_and_stripes
u.s_flag -> stars_and_stripes
u.s._flag -> stars_and_stripes
u.s.a_flag -> stars_and_stripes
u.s.a._flag -> stars_and_stripes

Related Implications:

stars_and_stripes -> flag

There are lots of other flag tags, and none of them imply flag, so I'm wondering if there's some reason why they don't.

EDIT: The tag alias us_flag -> stars_and_stripes (forum #279166) has been rejected by @NotMeNotYou.

... -1, reverse it. The suggestion you made means that all posts tagged us_flag would instead be tagged stars_and_stripes, and et cetera. It's from one tag and to the other, in this case from us_flag to stars_and_stripes.

Reverse, informal names/ nicknames or Slang should be aliased to the formal term not the other way around.

*_flag

us_flag

is definitely the better tag name. stars_and_stripes is the most populated variation at the moment despite its unintuitive tag name, and as far as can tell, tags that have dependent aliases can't be aliased to something themselves.
