Topic: Whitelist this link for uploads please

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

So if anyone here follows TwitchyAnimations, I think it would be great if his MP4 file links could be whitelisted for the upload page. I just tried to upload an MP4 file and it wouldn't let me.

An example of the link is https://files.catbox.moe/otrjrn.mp4

I dont know exactly how to request this sort of thing so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place, but maybe hopefully an admin would be willing to add it to the whitelist, as I prefer directly uploading from the source instead of saving it and uploading it (especially on mobile)

convert it to WebM, this website supports that file format.

MP4 is supported on the beta site, so it might be best to ask on there for it to be added to the whitelist.

Alternatively you can download it, upload it when the site swaps over, and use that as the source.

I'm pretty commonly sweeping this artists content in 1-2 week cycles, because it's much easier to batch convert them with super high end computer and everyone else seems to be uploading only their own favorites from them.

Not sure should we whitelist .moe addresses to direct URL uploading, considering they are free filehosts.

Not anymore. Already uploaded files are download only right now.

Also filesize limit will still be 100MB even in future, so if the video is long and high res/fps, conversion to VP9 WebM is still most preferred action, as it provides higher quality for bitrate compared to h264. post #2078955 was 321MB.
