Topic: Favourite Artists

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

I personally think there should be a way to easitly find already searched or saved artists, just like the old version had. With this new version i've lost all the artists i used to check out or had already saved.

Having a "fav artists" thing would be nice to save artists names or to follow.

Indeed about the favorite artists comment. I was actually using a browser extension to keep tabs on individual favorite tags/artists. That extension is now basically broken. Esix Extend isn't fairing as terribly but its specific settings page is no longer appearing and the background is now invisible.

While this is of course up to the third parties and not the fault of Esix, I'm twiddling my thumbs while trying to acclimate.

If I do recall, however, wasn't 'followed artists' a thing that was limited to people of 'contributor' rank or higher?

The feature you talk about was removed for everyone many years ago.

That sucks a lot. I really hope they fix it, everytime i typed any letter from a-z (even numbers) the artists i had already searched would pop up. That was a very nice thing and I really hope they add something like it.

Wait, you mean that when you type in the search field you get suggestions for frequent searches? Cause I'm pretty sure that's a feature of your browser and not e6. It's been reset with the site rebuild and should come back after a while :)Edit:
Actually it seems to be overwritten by the inbuilt autocomplete, but atleast you've got that.

See your other forum thread: @savageorange knows what he's talking about. I don't :P

Updated

Well, thanks. I'm actually not sure what the interaction between the browser caching and the autocomplete is, though. I could only speculate that the options provided by browser cache were interfering with the ordering of options provided by autocomplete, therefore it was disabled (temporarily?).

But we also currently have some arbitrary jankiness like.. the posts per page selector in Settings is currently a gigantic enumeration rather than a numeric input field.. So I don't want to bet on the autocomplete implementation being totally rational rather than 'this is ok for now, I'll fix it later'.

Someone who's really into Javascript is probably the kind of person you need to ask about this.
