Topic: Please bring back artist name in tab titles

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Currently the tab titles are only the post ID (#123456), but it's very hard to know which tab corresponds to which picture.

This also makes it hard to distinguish saved bookmarks.

Previously what I had was "artist (#123456)", since the artist is the more practical / human readable information.

Thanks!

Personally I had it the other way around, as in "#1234: artist"

Well, when the tabs got smaller after having many tabs open, I'd rather see the author name, that's why I had it on the left.

I disagree. With many tabs open, it's handy to be able to tell which tab contains a search and which one is a post.
The first few letters of an author's name are much less useful.

You into something you're worried will get you in trouble if it's connected to your username?
You could just use a name here you don't use anywhere else. I doubt staff here are going to start handing out your hidden user information.

I think you misread my post. I mean that bookmarked tabs are also harder to distinguish.

And I think that he is insinuating that you bookmark posts instead of favoriting them on the site them because you are afraid that someone would find your account, look through your favorites, and discover what terrible, lewd things you are into.

It's such a bizarre accusation to make...

Less an accusation than a confused question.
I'm just not sure why else you'd use bookmarks to save posts in lieu of either using favourites or having a sorted download directory.
Enlighten me?

It's mostly for posts I want to get back to and explore more, and also for looping animations which play better on the browser.

Interesting point, the titles of search tabs had a slash on the old UI, "/wolf order:score", so it was easy to distinguish them from posts.

Getting to see the full artist names on smaller tabs still wins to me, but either order as a website default would be an improvement!
