Topic: Tag suggestion: texture tags

Updates
  • The current working strategy is detailed_* in place of all proposed texture tags.
Original Post

The emphasis of texture in an image, such as skin texture, currently does not have a tag. Skin texture or fur texture differs from non-textured skin or fur, and I believe users will appreciate the added detail and search power.

Let's create texture tags! Below is my suggested nomenclature for the tags, based on grammar:

Texture type
*_texture

Again, the presence of texture is more specific than just tagging texture along with disconnected tags for body type or material type. Likewise, certain locations may be textured while others may not be.

Texture location
"textured_*"

These lists are not meant to be comprehensive, but a starting point open to refinement.

Do you agree that the community should have these tags? Post with your opinion of whether people would use them.

Wouldn't the detailed_ tags cover that? detailed_scales, detailed_feathers, detailed_skin, etc. A _texture or textured_ tag would make me think of a flat texture on a 3D model in place of detailed geometry.

I see! I didn't realize detailed_* was a thing. I'll use that convention for both detail types and locations. If that strategy fits, consider this thread closed.
