Topic: Clarification on "Good quality edits"

Posted under General

all of my neural network + photoshop decensored posts got nuked and I'm wondering constitutes a "good quality edit" on this site. I can understand if a post gets deleted if there's really an official uncensored version of the same art. But this is simply not the case. And I admit some of my older posts like https://e621.net/posts/2138922 is definitely not so good. But there is still no uncensored version of it. All posts are saved as high quality PNG and there was no upscale or edit of any kind other than the decensored edit

Im unsure. Im certain those being submitted would not be taken down for quality issues.

I dont actually fully understand the current landscape of "edit" qualifications.

We do not want or condone artificial edits or literal copy and paste jobs. If you use a neural network to do anything your edits will fall under the first category, and deleted on those grounds.

except it's not fully just a "artificial edits" edit as photoshop was used as well. There's nothing to "copy and paste" as it all needs to be done manual albeit with assistance of a neural network so it looks better

pro tip: use [redacted] and you can keep all the edits and paywall content they don't want uploaded

Basically we do not want edits that can be done in 5 minutes by anyone on consumer computer, which includes stuff like ms paint crop and paste edits and AI generator edits, because anyone can do it and there can be subjective choises and especially AI software does improve over time so same edit year later is now better.

There are just more and more of these cases lately as there's software to AI upscale images, AI color images, AI generate images from linework, AI decensor images, AI motion interpolation, etc. etc. where all regular users go "shit, this looks amazing! I need to share this"

But at the same time I do hope we keep door open for edits like such

Using a tool like deepcream requires a lot of post work to even be considered viable for use.

If theyve been edited to the point where it looks good it was not the AI doing so. The AI only removed the bars or the mosaic to allow the area to be cleaned up properly.

Edits that look good enough will have had to have been worked on extensively AI or not.

Was the [redacted] link leading to a certain imageboard?
