So, for whatever reason, I don't seem to be able to do it, myself. Could somebody who DOES have the authority to change the tag's type, change it to a species tag? It's currently a character tag, which is wrong both in lore, and in what the tag's very own wiki says.

Definite +1, breezie_(mlp) are a species and not a character. I can't change it since the tag has over 100 posts (regular members can't edit a tag type after it reaches 100 tagged posts), but I'm hopeful somebody with a higher account can.

There, done. I temporarily removed 20 posts from the tag, and switched it to species.
