Requested feature overview description.
Artist wiksi now have a feature that if you start the URL with -, the source is made unclickable and striketrought. This makes it possible to keep dead previous sources while not having the annoyance of clicking dead sources.
Similar feature would be extremely welcome on post pages as well.
Why would it be useful?
We have already had users, including janitors, who have straight up removed sources from the post because they have gone dead, under assumption that they are no longer needed. Even dead sources are extremely useful and has been proven useful time and time again, including search of dead source with google or source: metatag providing our mirror of the content or with tumblr getting direct raw image links or wayback machining the content.
This would also help in cases where dead source has been bought out or hijacked and spreads ads or malware.
