Topic: What does "Antecedent name has already been taken" mean?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

I got this error message when attempting to suggest a tag alias. What does it mean?

I was attempting to have "fizzlepop_berrytwist_(mlp)" aliased away to "fizzlepop_berrytwist" (without the _(mlp) addition). Because, as I attempted to explain in my alias request, adding a "_(whatever)" to the end of a character tag is for the sake of differentiating multiple characters with the same name from one another. And there's literally no other character with the name "Fizzlepop Berrytwist."

Having made the bulk request in your thread myself, I can vouch that it just means that there's already a request for that alias. You can't add existing requests to a bulk; I assume that would cause issues when it comes to approving and denying things.

Sooo...basically, the title error message means "Nah, man, somebody's already trying to alias that away to something else," then? Also...

I don't see what my thread that started out requesting Girlspike names be aliased to just Spike, has to do with this issue. I wasn't trying to alter that thread in any way, and I don't see anything related to Fizzlepop Berrytwist OR Tempest Shadow anywhere in there already.
