Topic: Any way to make the 'random' function account for your blacklist?

Posted under e621 Tools and Applications

So, I went and gave the 'random' feature listed beneath the overarching posts thingamajigger a go. It seems like a great resource for finding work I may not have spotted otherwise, but I ended up with a surprise or two, with posts with tags on my blacklists being displayed. I was curious if there was some way for me to make sure that that particular function makes use of my blacklist.

I wish! I keep hoping it'll be an added feature tweak one of these days...

It should be possible IMO to make a userscript that checks whether the currently loaded page points at a blacklisted post, and request a new random one if so. The usefulness of this would be inversely proportional to the total number of posts your blacklist applies to.

The tricky part would be making that only kick in when you're using the randomizer (ie. not when you're intentionally checking out a blacklisted post). If you can detect HTTP 302 forwarding with Javascript, that would probably do the job.

If anyone knew how to do that and could implement it in a super easy way, it'd be Xh3l. It's quite possible he could put it into eSix extend.

@Misappropriated: Maybe go request the feature on the eSix Extend forum topic? I just recently requested that the comments/replies buttons light up when you get a new comment, and it was put into the userscript within the month! Xh3l is pretty awesome that way.
