Topic: What should we tag a sheathed, retracted cock?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

I think we should use sheath as a lot of images of this type are tagged as sheath so it seems to be the correct tag.

or how about we make a new tag: sheathed_penis ?

I wouldn't be against that. Sheath alone just doesn't cut it for this type of search, because sometimes the sheath is still clearly visible while the penis is halfway or even fully erect, and "sheath -penis" conflicts with quite a few multiple-character pictures (where one male is fully sheathed and one or more others aren't).

Actually, why exactly is it that we can't use flaccid here? I wasn't aware of that and by now I've tagged it to a whole bunch of sheath pictures. Darn.

Because flaccid implies penis, and shouldn't be tagged if it's not visible.

A while back someone suggested using penis_tip (like Genjar said earlier in the topic) for exactly this situation and it seems to have caught on. Although, it seems weird not to tag a penis when you can see the tip...

Maybe we should also have a tag for when we see the tip of the penis in the sheath (as in SadPandaInSnow's example at the start) and one for "fully sheated" situations.

You mean it's got an E621 implication? *goes to check*

https://e621.net/wiki/show?title=flaccid

This tag implies the following tags: penis

Right, I see, that's a good reason then. Though perhaps the implication itself could be seen as rather questionable, but that's another discussion.

But it's not like every sheath has a visible penis tip sticking out.

Not by a long shot. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if nearly half the tagged pictures were like this.

I think those should be tagged as both. Penis tip is subtag of the penis tag group, in the same way as half-erect and glans are.

...we probably could implicate penis_tip to penis, I don't see any reason not to.

Perhaps.
'Sheath -erection -penis' finds most of those, but there might be enough to warrant having a separate tag anyway.

Fully_sheathed seems like it would be a good tag for it. I prefer that over sheathed_penis, since the latter would probably get mixed up with other tags.

+1 on "sheated_penis" it seems more logical.

Would break wildcard searches, though.
I'm hesitant to tag *_penis on images where there's no visible penis.

I agree. Fully_Sheathed sounds better to me.
Not that I'll be torn up about it either way.

I'll start tagging those as fully_sheathed for now, just to keep track of the ones I find. There's only a few, so if we decide on an another name, they'll be easy to rename.
