Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: slit -> genital_slit

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #47061 slit -> genital_slit has been rejected.

Reason: The "slit" tag states that it should not be used in the case of other slit-shaped holes such as "pussy", "cloaca", "slit(wound)", or non-slit-shaped holes, and other kinds of sheaths or holes, leaving its only correct use the same as the more descriptive and correct "genital_slit". The only other cases where it may be usable are in slit-shapes anuses and mammary slits, one of which also has its own separate tag already. It's a fairly commonly used tag, and even in the community, "slit" is shorthand for "genital slit". the alias should reflect that.

essentially, anything correctly tagged "slit" fits the "genital slit" tag, save a small handful of cases where a new tag should have been made or a different tag altogether should have been used.

EDIT: The tag alias slit -> genital_slit (forum #295777) has been rejected by @Millcore.

Maybe a disambiguation would be better if it can mean several different things.

Agreed. Create Alias slit > slit_disambiguation would be better.

ah, that's what disambiguations are for. I agree. If you read the "slit" tag description carefully, it even advises against use when you don't know what gender a character is, where the cloaca and pussy tags apply- it's pretty ironic, but then again I think slit and genital_slit were just two different "colloquial" tags to refer to the same thing.

Slit even gets tagged for slitted eyes, etc. It definitely needs to go, but 'genital_slit' isn't the best place for it. Disambiguate or invalidate. The latter would probably be more effective in getting users to stop taggin it.
