Rope isn't the only thing you can make a noose with though. Not exactly ideal, but cords, wire, and leashes can be made tied up into a noose as well.

Okay. I knew I'm missing something.

BTW crotch_rope specifically refers to the bondage technique, and not generally to rope near the crotch area. I'm not sure it is appropriate to implicate anything to that tag while that tag carries a specific meaning. It also may not even involve rope at all.

Also I'm not sure rope_harness should be considered a harness. It also refers to a bondage technique, and not a specific bondage device. It may be more beneficial to keep these terms separate anyways since the terms are both associated with bondage and BDSM, because of the potential overlap.

Updated

  • Yeah, even though most cases include rope, I suppose crotch_rope could include objects other than rope (though it's name makes it seem like it's for rope specifically). I'll remove the crotch_rope implications from the BUR.
  • I remember seeing that sentiment for previous suggestions of the implication rope_harness -> harness (although I'm not sure I agree with this). Regardless, I'll remove this implication from the BUR, though the name for rope_harness makes it seem as if it should imply harness (in a similar way as crotch_rope).
  • However, the names for crotch_rope and rope_harness may need some reworking to help alleviate ambiguity, as I find some confusion and ambiguity about their usage due to their tag names. While reading the wikis does help to describe how to utilize these tags, I feel other folks could also be confused about how to utilize them, particularly if they just look at the names of these tags without looking through their wikis.

There are two issues with rope_harness implying harness.

1. Shibari is aliased to it. Harnesses IMO should be perceived to have some functional aspect for them in theory, and shibari often heavily focuses on using rope for decorative purposes.

2. Leather / bondage harnesses to my knowledge still are mainly tagged as simply harness, and the applicable variations are largely underused in general.

There are two issues with crotch_rope.

1. I don't think crotch has been used as an umbrella term for genitals for any other tags. If you wanted this umbrella term, using genitals or genitalia would be more consistent.

2. It is the proper name for that technique, and should be used mainly for that purpose. Wikipedia

Without those two tags, the rest seems not so controversion. The rope_walking one seems like it might be something used for more than just rope unless we have a more generic name for what that tag is used for.

Updated

  • I think a harness could be decorative without serving a functional aspect, whilst still being a harness.
  • The crotch_rope stuff makes sense, it's just odd how it's name could get it confused with other similar tags like penis_rope.
  • The rope_walking thing makes sense too, though it's sort of weird how many of these tags with 'rope' in their names may not necessarily include rope.

Is there any other edits I can make to this BUR? I'm hoping to improve this BUR's +1 votes so that it can be approved.
