It’s so we can search for our favorite pairing/otp/ships and also block the ones we hate or just don’t want to see.

It would have to be a lore tag thing but I dont think it works for this kind of gallery.
What's wrong with excluding the character tags?
For example, if there are characters A, B & C.
One can just search for "A B -C" for AxB posts, "A C -B" for AxC posts, and vice versa.
It just seems that it would be a very messy thing to implement, i.e. need to create aliases for every pairing (BxA alias --> AxB) which increases in complexity with each new character (AxBxC needs to be aliased with BxCxA, CxAxB, etc). And the tag list increases with every new or future pairings from other shows/IPs.
An often forgotten feature of the site is publicly-viewable sets. If that gets more attention/usage, I can easily see people creating "AxB" sets of their favourite pairings.
