Reason: All names for the same artist. Furaffinity and Inkbunny use "MrRottson", but that seems like a limitation of the sites' lack of spaces for usernames; rolling with "Mr. Rottson" as the default per Twitter.

I think that mr_rottson would be a better tag.
It respects the space in the username while avoiding the completely unnecessary dot.

Is it unnecessary? It's a part of the artist's name, and there are plenty of other tags on the site with a period (exhibit A: mr._*).

There is precedent, yes. It's just the perfectionist in me that does not like seeing punctuation in tags.
