Topic: Funny or unique ways of hiding porn?

Posted under Off Topic

I was just thinking that a couple of years ago when I would have to go without internet for several months due to my job, I had a 2TB Hard Drive with about 300 GB of porn on it. Since I often shared movies with coworkers, I hid said porn in several layers of folders that had terribly boring names like fc.se or xe.re, set up with false folders and everything, just so no one would find my stash. It proved to be a fruitless endeavor since everyone had porn on their HDs and no one was embarrassed about it LOL!

I was curious if anyone else went to great lengths to hide porn from peering eyes lol.

Also, you can somehow hide a zip folder inside an image file - topic #6043.

I'd strongly suggest to just compress everything into a password-protected archive (i.e. WinRAR or 7-Zip) and only open it when needed.
Using layers upon layers of false folders is good and all, but your stuff will still pop up if someone uses the Search function.

I used to have a couple USB drives stashed in my gas mask bag and in my rifle case, because I figured no one would touch those without me around.
These days I don't give a fuck and leave sd cards laying around.

I'm not sure why I hid it in the first place. Only other person I know is my brother and I show him my drawings so it's not like he doesn't already know.

i've never actually hidden any porn since i've never kept it on a shared device, like said usb stick. however i'd hide it in a couple of folders and if someone like a coworker found it, well, their fault for snooping around my stuff i guess? i dunno i hide it all on my phone so like the chances someone will see it is pretty low since i'm really the only person who uses it.

Haha, after a while I bought a micro USB that would just hold porn, because using a laptop was pretty hard in a cramped space. Of course, I ended up losing the card in a crack and never was able to get it out. So someday, someone will be able to get this card out and if they decide to plug it into their computer or phone, they will have access to a LOT of porn hahaha

Before smartphones were a thing (around 2006), for portable furry porn viewing I printed out my favorite pics.

I unscrewed the back of my CRT monitor and taped an envelope to the inside of the case, then hid the printed-out pics inside that envelope. Kept the CRT monitor's case closed with 1 screw, for quick access to the pics.

Store it on e621

honestly, assuming that something isn't DNP, paysite, or irrelevant to site, yeah. why save it to your computer if you can have it online in one of the most meticulously well-tagged archive of art that currently exists.

In case it goes DNP or is subject to a takedown without warning, or the site or your internet happens to be down when you want to look at it.

That's the old way of doing it, encrypted drives or files through something I mention in this comment is likely a better option privacy wise.

I dunno, maybe society collapses, and the internet stops working entirely in some parts of the world (... or entirely.)?

I shill it more than people would appreciate, but Hydrus Network will happily handle most of your media archival needs with the ability to scrape and store tags per file (or reverse searching them), duplicate and alternate processing, tag implications and non-destructive replacements (via siblings and parents), and automatic submission scraping from numerous boorus and non-boorus, backed by community efforts. There's also a Progressive Web App (PWA) that interfaces with Hydrus's API system to let you access it from another device on the network, or across the network (with some knowlege on self hosting with SSL Certs, or maybe TOR hidden services).

As far as E621 Goes, it can either scrape via the API (with the API's limitations)... or less nice to the website, by raw-dogging it via HTML scraping.

Oh, and it can pin files onto IPFS if sharing is needed.

And the easiest way to keep it safe & encrypted would be to create an external drive that's fully encrypted though VeraCrypt... (or to an encrypted file on an existing drive) or LUKS if only Linux is your fancy.

that looks pretty cool! i'll have to check it put when i can. :3

used to do all kind of shit with encrypted external hard drives, micro SDs with encrypted archives and stuff like that. now i just keep a hydrus database sat in my home directory, no password lock or anything. tbh using linux is probably a bigger deterrent to anyone snooping around my stuff than just not being able to find a hidden flash drive full of porn.

Just store it in the open, or don't hide it at all. You'll be surprised how little of a shit people give.

Haha that brings back memories! Around the same year I used to do the same thing, however, instead of hiding the pics in a monitor, I used to stick them between pages of really really really boring books I had on my book shelf, knowing no one would open those books to read them haha

I've legit just have been storing some of the oldest stuff I loved on the same Flash Drive for the past six (or seven? I forget since it's hard for me to keep track with how Windows Explorer tracks dates over time) only to get an external hard drive back in late 2016 and start storing the stuff on that since then. I still have access to the old Flash Drive contents to my very day, even having every piece of content from the flash drive (mind you, I used this flash drive for quite a bit of stuff back then).

Strangely, I refuse to mess with anything in this area as some of it is currently mostly lost to time. That, and the two artists whose art I recognize being lost probably (I really hope they do! I know one of the two artists still have access to their content that dates back to 2006!) still have access to these pieces surprisingly, and just do not want to post these pieces.

I'm still salty that i cant find some long lost image series, it might be on the popufur.com hidden service but it's such a bear to dig through without knowing who the artist was.

A friend once told me he had a folder called "Indiana Jones - Kingdom of the Crystal Skull [2008].iso" and he changed the icon to look like a iso image.

why hide porn when you can accidently show it to people by turning on your electronics in their presence.

In my case, In the first place, I wouldn't let people touch my devices.
And needless to say, I'll set a password or PIN No.....Huh? You didn't ask me That?

I had a suspicion that my father (died a few years ago) had done the same thing.
Then I checked, and there was one unusually large folder --- 600GB!? It was movie lol
Of course I found it in the search function, though. ( And it was not a hidden folder, not a unusual name...f*cking stupid? )

My approach would be to use a zip folder with no extension and use 7-zip : Name="ABC.zip" ⇒ Name="ABC"
And , let's keep them separate.
The people who know a lot about computers will be suspicious, but *.dll and *.ini might not be bad either.

I am very meticulous about hiding my porn and will go very out of my way to do so for example i like furry porn games but i have to download most just to play so my strat is to hide the game in a folder on my pc and rename it to somthing along the lines of "EULA-READ" so people wont bother clicking on then i change the icon to a file ocon onstead of the game icon just incase

the virgin hiding it through meticulous means vs the chad having it easy to find to the point that all they have to do is see one of the many pictures in your collection is just close out of Wallpaper Engine
