Topic: About the Report Ticket : What If I make a mistake , accidental click , or want to make a correction? ( Why Can't I delete / cancel / edit my Ticket ? )

πŸ˜€Nice to meet you. I'm unfamiliar with the system and don't understand many things. But I am so Glad that users and administrators of e621 are very polite and helpful. Through that, I realize that this place ... e621 is The_world_where_Furries_with_heart_live. At the same time, I am confident I will be able to leave it here in peace when I present my work in the future.

Now,
I had a question about the report ticket, But I couldn't find it for me in any of the help, forums, ticket center, or google searches. ( I've checked the topic #26824 )
So I'm asking it as a forum.

About the Report Ticket ,
What are the consequences if Or is there anything I can do to help? :
(1) accidentally clicked the Report button ( mistook it for a Reply β†’ Can I delete my ticket? )
(2) mistake to report it and I want to rescind it ( Is it possible to cancel a ticket? )
(3) would like to make a correction to the ticket I sent ( I want to edit the ticket until it is processed , before "Under_Investigation" )

My Guess and What I'm Thinking :
(1) I just get these texts back...."Hello there, I believe you've made a misclick since it seems you meant to reply to this comment but reported it instead.Stay safe"....Nothing will happen if it wasn't a punishable post though.
...Well, "Reply" and "Report" aren't that close, and I'm sent to a different page.....so I do think it's weird to say "I didn't know"....(....Hey, whoever is sending this on purpose is harassing the admin, isn't it huhπŸ€¨πŸ’’!? )

(2) It's a case of me later deciding that "Oh, no!! I don't have to need a ticket!!". This is a case where (1) is not.
Once it's sent, Even if the person who sent you the ticket didn't want it, Maybe the admin will just handle everything ---- But I think that would just end up taking up the time of the busy admin.γ€€Not at the moment, but if it does, at least I am unwilling to do so.γ€€ It would be helpful to be able to submit a request directly from the e621 website at these times.
There are ways to send a DM, but that doesn't help when you can't get to them in time. And that's what I end up spending admin time on ( because the admin will see the DM. ).
It may be a hurdle for people who don't know what to do in the first place.

(3) If there is Something_Wrong on my ticket, It's NOT a good idea to resend my ticket again and again and again. (← If I do that so much, admin takes "disciplinary_action" against me, right?)
But still, sometimes I may find out my mistake after I send my ticket....The result might be the same as in (2), though.
If I could at least edit it while the status is pending, at least until it's my next turn to edit it: ...... I think there are times when it would be helpful for me and for the admin.

Of course, I know I have to be careful before I click submit. ----But failure is what I/You/We find out later. I'm just having trouble with the system that I can't get back.
Rather, when I see the occasional funny conversation like (1),
I ask myself, "Why isn't there a system to delete/cancel/edit tickets from users once they've been sent?" I wonder.

Would you mind if you tell me what you think?😌 (I'm hoping to get an admin's opinion on this as well......)

MeaningLess Talk , Man ,
The Ticket Center is often filled with "Use-Your-Blacklist" or "Creepy", isn't it? Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―
I'm glad I was able to find out about this early. It's easy to see what's wrong with it...Well wellπŸ™„ . The hard work of the admins is obvious.

Updated by Donovan DMC

Tickets can't be deleted or edited, guessing that wont change due to the fact that crucial information could be altered. Sometimes if I find that there is even more important information that would be of value to an admin investigation I'll link the ticket in question to a new one with the updated information. If it's something less important, I'll wait for an admin to handle the ticket than directly message from the dmail related to said ticket so it can be handled there.

I see , That kind of thing: "Once you've said it to Report, you're responsible for what you say,so You can't take that back.".
( ...I guess Dumbasses like (1) are rare, and I just have to be careful. )

For(2),(3), Instead of edit Ticket, There's a way to Link a "New_Ticket" later on to an "Old_Ticket". Then it seems to work as an addition.
Or I guess you could say, "Let's wait until it's processed, and then, you'll do it again carefully next time", I agree.

Then......Oh , I can wait for a message from the admin to come in, and tell them when it's time to do so....this also looks good...
Still , if It is (very) important enough to make sure "it's_all_right", It is still a good idea to start over, like you said. And things may change.
Thank you very much for your tips!!πŸ˜€πŸ˜Œ

Updated

Ohhhh Noooo!! I really messed up!!!😨orz So I said that I won't know the results until I try it.
To send admin a ticket as a user complaint [ Confidential ], I went to the profile page to do "Report a user:",and Clicked "Report/Commend",
but my browser may have been malfunctioning.

It was mentioned in the topic #26824, but I'll mention it here as well.

Update for the next person: sent a message via DM/DMail (account > messages > menu > new) to an admin/mod (link to list on wiki main page, chosen based on who handles the most tickets), and they closed it out

That's actually true (closed or checked). Thanks for the information ahead of time.

Updated

An option to rescind or append an extra message to a ticket would be nice. I reported a post for spamming after asking them to stop, but I missed the date of the post (sorry, gattonero2001)... and while they did technically spam an unrelated request among a number of posts, they haven't done so since being asked to stop. Being able to rescind the ticket since they haven't actually continued, or at least attach an addendum that I was mistaken about them continuing to spam after being asked to stop, would be nice.

@Watsit I forgive you but I still don't believe that what I did was spamming. Regardless, I'll stop, but I would like to receive confirmation that it is "officially" frowned upon.

If the request is not distracting from the rest of the topic, does it hinder discussion?

I've been away from e6 for 2 weeks ( and stopped my activities ) for some reason ...well but, don't ask me that, it's a long story.

  • @Watsit : For the purpose of reducing invalid tickets, I personally think it would be good if it is noted that the ticket has a time limit.

The deadline is one month, I believe, But where did I see that description?
(( Some of these days tickets are for "4 years ago..." or something like that. --- I feel like it's a waste of the admin's time to handle them. ))

  • @gattonero2001 : I don't think saying things that have nothing to do with the forum will hinder the discussion, but maybe it's better to do it in moderation.

--- And I have one more thing to say to you. Sorry for keeping you waiting about your topic.

It is still sometimes necessary to report older posts/comments. While most infractions have a 1-month time limit, there are things that should be reported regardless of how long its been (links that get hijacked to point to malware, or comments encouraging or discussing real-life illegal activities, for example).

Millcore already told me that I should not do that and I admit that I was wrong.

You do not have any obligation to help me, there is no need to be sorry.

Your contributions to my BURs have been amazing and I am grateful for everything that you have done for me.
