I'm trying to upload an uncensored version of post 610035. But I get an error - Post is a duplicate of post #1167638. This post has been removed, but it will not let me upload the uncensored version. I took a close look at the uncensored version i want to upload, and it does not seem to be a lower quality picture. Same resolution, and looking back and forth at them, it seems to be the same quality, just uncensored. I can't tell if its the original uncensored picture, but it certainly looks real, and miles better than the censored version.

Can I get someone to remove the removed duplicate post so I can upload the uncensored version?

Probably not, e621 is very selective about de-censoring edits, and if the file itself is blocked it's likely the same de-censor as the deleted post.

But...its very clearly a better picture. I can't even tell if it was uncensored using a program or not. And if we can have an uncensored version, why not? I've seen plenty of terrible edits on e6.

Means that the post you're trying to upload is the same un-censor edit as the deleted post you mentioned. Meaning that the edit in question isn't up to par on edit quality standards.

This is not how this works.

Your upload is not dublicate of post #610035, it's dublicate of post #1167638. You will never be able to upload that file again.
What that means instead of deleting anything, post #1167638 would need to be restored if it was deemed acceptable here and my decision to be overruled.

Subjectively better, yes. However that is third party edit, not original.

The sites aim is to provide highest quality original copies of works: e621:image_quality
With edited content, we have differend type of criteria, which you can read on uploading guidelines.

The edit is made with waifu2x, by upscaling the mosaic part and replacing the mosaic part with upscale of it. This goes againts two guidelines: AI/neural network content and low effort edits.

AI/neural network stuff has couple downsides to it: it's starting to be so amazing that it becomes extremely hard to determine if a content is upscaled or not, you basically have to know what to look for to realize if this is the case or not. Also even if upscaled content can look subjectively better, the original information is destroyed in the process, which quickly turns into generation loss but instead of JPG compression on memes, it's blotches of color. It also becomes extremely likely we could accidentally approve upscaled and edited content over originals, which is extremely bad.

Have been ranting about this recently, you can read comment #5231796, comment #5214795 and comment #5222535 if you want to.

Additionally because the edit consists of running the image trough one software and then just using eraser tool in any image editing software, this isn't exactly something I would consider to be extremely difficult nor time consuming. Additionally after that image was uploaded there has been advancements, including release of DeepCreamPy which is more dedicated and even easier tool for this.

Please link decensor, color fixes and other improvements that don't meet e6 upload requirements in the description field.
