Topic: [Feature] Ability to add forum post votes to individual non-alias/imply/BUR request forum topics/posts

Posted under Site Bug Reports & Feature Requests

Requested feature overview description.
add the option for a user to add the "forum post votes" buttons to non-alias/implication/BUR request forum post on a per-post basis.

Why would it be useful?
users would be able to weigh in on tagging suggestions/projects, requests, etc. without having to reply with "+1" or "-1".

What part(s) of the site page(s) are affected?
Forum topics, Forum posts

Just turn on voting for all forum posts, and watch the fun begin.

honestly, some way to react to random forum posts without actually leaving a reply, possibly derailing a conversation would be nice. Discord has spoiled me by being able to just attach the โ˜๏ธ emoji to stuff whenever someone says the correct answer to a question or something just something distinctly appropriate.

"+1" ... I wish I could say that, but don't think we need "-1".

I'm sure someone like this will appear : "just didn't like it, so hit the down_vote". The dark side of e6 is tricky...
When someone disagrees with someone else, I'd like to see them leave their opinion on "why". I think anyone who downvotes when they can't even leave an opinion of themselves ... is a coward, but that's the Internet.
Well, there are some topics/comments I really do Not want to say anything and just leave "-1". โ† No , that's all I have to do is Report it ( or do nothing ).

Of course we need "+1" !!

Plenty of people seem to misunderstand voting on image posts, thinking high upvote counts means it should stay and high downvotes means it should be deleted, as well as misunderstand voting on post comments, thinking upvotes mean you did right (and shouldn't get in trouble) and downvotes mean you did something wrong (and shouldn't be listened to). I've also seen upvotes and downvotes spark comments and debates in and of themselves ("how can anyone agree with that?", "why the downvotes?"). I've seen plenty of comments be downvoted just because people didn't like what it said, the way it was said, or who wrote it, but was otherwise completely correct/accurate. Being able to +1/-1 random forum posts that weren't asking for feedback seems like it'd just spread the problem.

But even then, posts looking for feedback probably want a bit more than just +1/-1 too. With alias/implication requests, IIRC the vote count helps the mods see whether a request should be accepted in lieu of actual feedback. I'm not sure I see the same utility for other forum posts.
