Topic: [APPROVED] "Pantsless" does not equal, or imply, "bottomless"

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #363 is active.

remove alias pantsless (4055) -> bottomless (152255)
remove alias pantless (0) -> bottomless (152255)
remove alias no_pants (0) -> bottomless (152255)

Reason: These two tags should not have been combined. While both imply that a character is wearing more on their top than bottom half, bottomless (as currently defined on the wiki) means a character's genitals (or implied genital area) are not covered by any of their clothing. It would be very useful to have a pantsless tag to indicate that a character is wearing less bottomwear than is generally considered socially acceptable (such as just a pair of briefs), but nevertheless enough to cover the genitals.

The lack of any tag for the latter scenario is particularly frustrating when uploading the work of an artist who has a fetish for it, combined with the fact that I have a bit of a fetish for the former so have a personal interest in not polluting its tag.

I've never used this feature before so I hope I got it right. I'm not sure this counts as a "bulk" update request, but I couldn't see any other way of requesting removal of aliases.

This topic has been brought up before. Here's a thread from a year ago: topic #25195

And here's an admin acknowledging the problem five years ago: forum #151583

EDIT: Added the other two bottomless aliases. Sure would be nice if the site would allow me to redefine them in the same BUR.

EDIT: The bulk update request #363 (forum #299034) has been approved by @Millcore.

Just because you're not wearing pants doesn't mean you're not wearing something down there, be it underwear, skirt, or oaken barrel.

I approve, though I think "pantless" should be re-aliased to "pantsless" once the de-alias goes through. Probably "no_pants," too.

So, if pantless =/= bottomless, then will the same be true for shirtless =/= topless?

Would make sense, since a bra or chest wrap wouldn't be a shirt, and wearing one would mean they're not topless.
