Topic: Tag Implication: persona_4 -> persona

I think this should be an alias. I usually just see the franchise being tagged. And Persona games share a lot of the same demons, so tagging a specific game in the series wouldn't really help much.

I really don't know anything about the Persona series, but aren't the main characters always different?

The main characters are different in each game, but considering the nature of this site, there's probably more of a focus on the beings you can summon.

After all, we don't use different tags for different Pokemon games, and there are far more Pokemon images.

Ah, well... that's a thing, lol. I guess that proves how little I know about the series.

My first thought was that I'd prefer to just implicate all the persona_X tags to persona, but after searching a couple of them I found just how few images are in each one. I'm still leaning more toward the implication, but if all the demon critters from persona 1 through 4 are used as interchangeably as pokemon then I wouldn't oppose an alias either.

I guess to answer that question I have to ask, are demons from Persona 1 used in the latter games too? Like how pikachu and bulbasaur are still relevant in the most recent pokemon releases? If so, then I say alias, if not then I say implicate.

I've only played Persona 3 and 4, but those two have the same exact mons. 4 added one or two and removed a couple (mostly the main characters' Personae), but I think that's about it. From what I've seen on the wiki, most of them appeared in earlier Persona games.

A lot of them are actually from Shin Megami Tensei (Persona is a spin-off), which makes me wonder about how they should be tagged...

Definitely.
Some are only featured in a single game, but some such as pixie and Jack Frost appear in every series.

Just about the only things that are unique to persona_3 would be the main characters, and their personas. And those can be searched for by the name. So I think we can safely alias all of persona_* into Persona.

Especially since Persona 4 Arena features characters from both Persona 3 and 4.
