I've actually requested a related implication in the past (which it looks got rejected yesterday...).
I'd take the japanese school uniform alias out of the BUR, since serafukus are just one of several styles of school uniform in Japan. Not to mention that the tag has yet to be used on this site.

Actually, I used to wear this kind of uniform , so I guess should reconsider "alias japanese_school_uniform -> sailor_fuku".

What should be done with japanese_school_uniform, though? It is pretty ambiguous.

Perhaps sailor_fuku and this uniform (what is the name?) could both imply it.

This uniform (for boys) is 学ラン(がくらん / Gakuran).　Mostly junior_high_school_students(中学生) wear it. [Site1]

Yes. You can see that kimono and several other clothes (fundoshi, geta, yukata, hakama) implicate it.

As-is it doesn't look like there's enough use-case to justify it but a lot of schools where I live use distinctly-coloured/trimmed blazers I'd refer to as a school_blazer. It feels like that's less of a standard elsewhere though, since that doesn't seem to appear much in art?

school_blazer sounds interesting. At the moment, even regular blazers are undertagged, though, so both might require a project.

Replying after this was brought to my attention.

Serafuku are a more specific category of seifuku. In a literal sense, "seifuku" is "uniform", though in modern use it often is implicitly a school uniform, and in English subculture it is entirely, 100% reserved for the school uniforms. Aliasing seifuku to japanese_school_uniform will make for the least confusing solution, there are multiple means to identify to users that the tags they're trying to use are aliased away, and we have tag wikis to explain the minor differences between the words.
The rest of the BUR seems fine as-is, and failing a more thorough discussion on the difference between "sailor" vs. "sera", the latter might be a slightly safer choice of tag to distinguish from unrelated sailor-prefixed tags.
