Topic: grey area on posting images in a sequence?

Posted under General

Hey guys, I'd like to start uploading my stuff here, but I don't want to seem like I'm spamming or clogging the site. The problem is sometimes I make a sequence with a lot of entries, and from what I gather only 5 are allowed in a sequence max. I recently did this: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40163964/ and am wondering how I'd go about uploading it. Would each panel be okay since I'm redrawing the focus of the image from scratch each frame, or should I just choose the 5 frames that I guess best represent it? And if I were to choose the 5 frames, would uploading the animated version count as an entry in the sequence, or something outside of the sequence? IE should I do 4 frames and the gif, or 5 frames and the gif?

I'm also working on something with a similar amount of frames, however, the background and angle change 3 times during it, so I'd imagine that'd be more like 3 mini sequences and one meta sequence since the 3 angles are so different and similar to this, each frame has the focus co2mpletely drawn from the base up. Figured I'd ask before I upload anything like this, I'd like to upload but I don't want to seem annoying I just want to contribute. I hope this is the right place to ask, I didn't see a help category, thank you!

I'm not sure where you heard "only 5 allowed in a sequence, max" from...to the best of my knowledge, that's not a thing. I mean, there's a limit to how many images can be posted that are just slight edits of another image, so that they're more appropriate to make parent and child posts to each other...but when there's a clear, linear progression of images that are significantly different to each other, that's perfectly fine. Though, that usually gets pooled, rather than doing the parent/child thing.

So, like, if it's a case of "Here's the base version! Here's the cum version! Here's the naked version! Here's the naked AND cum version!" but the characters are still exactly the same, in the same poses, etc., with the possible exception of a change in facial expression...that's parent/child. But if it's a character visibly bloating more and more with each image, just put those in a pool, and you're fine.

oh okay, I hadn't heard of pooling. I've seen parent and childing of course, but doesn't that make each image show up in the tags when you search anyway? My worry was that if you looked up, say blob, you'd be going along and then see 13 of my images on the page back to back to back. Felt like that could be a really easy way to piss everyone off. Does pooling prevent that? Or is that even a problem at all? I haven't really seen that when searching so I figured it was likely not allowed or atleast discouraged. Like I said I'm looking to get started so I really don't want to cross some line I wasn't aware of and get an inoperably bad first impression. Thank you for the response!

They would each still show up separately in search results, yes. But there's really nothing wrong with that. Seeing a whole bunch of art right in a row, all from the same artist, is just something that occasionally happens, as an unavoidable effect of how the uploading process works around here. Nobody's bothered by it.

okay awesome, thank you so much! Don't know if I'm getting greedy with the questions since you've already answered mine, but is having too many tags looked down on? I know having inadequate tags is of course, but I recently saw some posts with people dogging on the uploader for having like multiple tags for penis, for example. I wasn't sure if something like "big boobs, huge boobs, hyper boobs, big breasts, huge breasts, hyper breasts" would annoy people. Thank you for already answering my question though, I was really worried about that!

Hey, no worries, ask away! I actually like being helpful, so ask as many questions as you need to. As to tagging, excess tagging is only a problem if you start adding tags we don't use around here, but even then, as long as you're not doing it persistently, the worst you'll get is friendly heads-up messages saying something to the effect of "Yeah, hate to bother, but we don't really use that one..." Well, unless the person who notices is an asshole, but that's just part of life. :P

One thing I will point out, is we don't use "boobs" in tagging, preferring "breasts" instead. Just so you're aware. But if they're big enough to count as hyper, they do also get tagged as all the previous size tiers, too. Though you needn't bother tagging them all: Due to a system we use called "tag implication," simply adding the highest applicable size tier will cause the system to automatically add the rest for you.

oh wow that's a really cool system, I'm surprised I've never seen a site do anything like that before. I think that's pretty much all my questions, I'll just have to keep an eye out for setting up parented and childed posts and image pooling. Thanks for all the help!

It's certainly very helpful for a lot of images. It's not perfect, but what is? :P And, no problem! If you run into anything that brings up more questions, don't hesitate to ask! If I'm not around to answer, there's plenty of other friendly, helpful folk here who surely will. ^_^
