Topic: How to ask in Japanese for permission to upload from artist?

Posted under General

This same question seems to have stalled out here https://e621.net/forum_topics/15609

Wondering 4 years later who I would be able to ask to finish this sentence.
日本語が少しだけ話せる。
あなたの絵をアップロードしてさせるか。勿論絵の根元にリンク [add to upload]. 考え直したらe621にメッセージを送ったら直ぐに外す。

Not sure what verbs convey typing out a link on a web page to link back to the original.

To my noobish Japanese, it reads like:

I only speak a bit of Japanese. USER: Upload your picture and ALLOW it?! Of course link to the picture's source [source]. If you change your mind, if you send a message to e621, it'll be removed right away.

It could use a bit of work, ideally.

This is a translation from DeepL that works better.

I really like your artwork. Would it be alright if I reposted some of your drawings on e621.net? I'll also provide a link to the original. If you change your mind latter on, you can always request for e621 to remove the picture later. (As you can probably tell, I do not speak Japanese, so I'm using a machine translator.)

あなたの作品が本当に好きです。あなたの絵をe621.netに転載してもいいですか?私はまた、オリジナルへのリンクを提供します。もし気が変わったら、いつでもe621にその絵を削除するように要求することができます。(お分かりかと思いますが、私は日本語が話せないので、機械翻訳機を使っています)

DeepL is pretty good at translation. Feel free to use the above translation or translate your own message with DeepL.

I'd probably also mention that there would be links back to their original post, so people who see it can find their site(s).

Updated.

What I was trying to say was
"Are we allowed to repost your art to the e621 image board if we credit and link back to you?"

Then I'd say like this,

こんにちは。私はあなたの絵がとても好きです。 ( Hello. I love(like) your art. )
そこで、あなたの絵をe621に投稿してもよろしいでしょうか?投稿元のリンクは明記します。( So may I post your arts on e621? We clearly show the source links to them. )

  • repost ⇒ post ・・・ They're almost the same, but You might want to use 投稿(post) rather than 再投稿(repost)=転載.

We Japanese tend to feel the word 転載 implies 無断転載 --- I mean, it might give a negative impression that "Posting without permission".
Some people have a policy of not allowing their creations to be posted without their permission.
(( On the other hand, I've found out that some artists who have gained popularity consider it an honor to be posted on e621, though. ))

By the way, who is the artist you are trying to get permission from? I'd like to get their information, for now.

I've gotten a lot of help on this, thank you everyone.
I'll stick with your version with 投稿 if it sounds better.
For anyone using this I wanted to mention that I don't understand Japanese so that I can get a simple answer. I was going to say.
日本語が少しだけ話せる。

I forgot to mention that they can ask to have it taken down if they change their minds. I was going to use this line.
もし気が変わったら、いつでもe621にその絵を削除するように要求することができます。

Well looking at this one again it looks like a Taiwanese Chinese speaker under wolfwithwing but I'll still be able to use it on someone else.

Yeah, you're right, I forgot about it, too. And that line sounds natural to me!
They may be unfamiliar with this site, so Add the link[https://e621.net/takedowns/new] at the end, please.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope that Japanese and people_abroad will get along well (except in cases that they don't understand each other).
That's why I decided to become a member of e621 and try to do something --- to be honest, it may not be going well though...
So, When you actually send a message, please remember that you might as well use DeepL to express your own feelings in your own way.
Even I think you can make the first line of my example better.🙄 Don't be afraid, they'll understand.
※ In addition:I am planning to create "How to use Takedown"(+CDNP) guide for Japanese artists, later.
Thank you for all the help.
That sounds useful.
