I was practically sober for a few months (save for two or three cases of social drinking) and didn't notice any substantial benefits.

I have mental health problems. Previously I was not had problem with drinking, but two of years ago too many bad things happened.
Now, I have gotten help and I have opened up about my alcohol problem to my friend and sister, who support me in quitting.

Another problem is that when I am drunk I send messages to my friends and they are not always very happy about it. I am not glad about my drinking but now I have already managed to reduce.

Are some of you still drunk? Just be sure to stick with your friends and have fun okay? Don't go out yourself.

I don't; drink, smoke, do drugs, have piercings or have tattoos.

The first reason is for my health. I have asthma so even secondhand smoke makes it feel like I'm crashing into a wall without a seatbelt. As for drinking, I don't have much tolerance for that either. I used to serve wine back in my senior school days for church and the first few times I had to consume the remnant, even that limited amount hit me pretty quickly. Actually, I recall once or twice having to give it to the priest because there was that much and, well I didn't want to fall on my ass in front of the whole high school.

Second, all that stuff is (to me at least) just plain expensive. I got better things to do with my money anyway.

I kinda wanted to get drunk sometime, but I have yet to drink something with alcohol that doesn't taste awful for me.

Have you tried ciders/meads?

Recently I have tried kimchi beer, by far the most unique beverage I have tried. Very strong smell of sour cabbage when you open the can, pleasant spiciness offsetting the taste of alcohol. Probably could replace my preference of mixing vodka with juices if it wasn't so expensive.

I think I tried apple cider once, but I don't remember the taste, will try some again 'w'

I also tried sake at some point, it tastes bad but I heard it's a good mix with some japanese foods, gonna try this combination after learning to cook some.

It depends on what you're drinking it for. In terms of the feeling I get, I like tequila, vodka, and rum. In terms of taste, I like pretty much any flavored booze but I think my favorite is malibu coconut rum. I might not be the best judge of flavor though since i've drank so much booze that I have a pavlovian response to the gasoline taste and actually enjoy it now.

Try making some cocktails or making a mixed drink with fairly low alcohol content, you will either taste very little of it or you can get it to a point where you won't even be able to taste any alcohol.
