Topic: So...Why Are You Furry? Hm, why are you FURRY!?

Posted under General

I don't represent myself as a furry at all.

There's something so special in that community that I'm very curious about.
I've been on e621 at first for the past 5 years I think as a guest member then registered since that made more sense then downloading every single WebM I liked.

I enjoy most of the art. The normal porn industry feels boring. Yiffing look and sound better to me.

I have trouble starting conversation with the autism syndrome I have.

Having a fursona and being a furry are two separate things.

Well you aren't just enjoying furry porn, you're calling it Yiff. You're a furry.

KEKW that's somehow true and false.
But I gotta say that I don't own any fursonas.

Also, I wanna say that enjoying furry porn wouldn't immediatly mean that I represent myself as an actual furry.
As described there :
Also known as furry porn, yiff is a popular porn category which depicts anthros or human/ultra humanoid animal characters.
according to https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Yiff

I basically just happen to enjoy that content and embrace it on my own.

Never said you have a fursona. Being a furry has nothing to do with having fursonas. You could have a fursona and not be a furry.

Fortunately your Autism don't seem very severe. Maybe I guess trending to Asperger?

You say that there is something special in the community that interest you. If we could help you to satisfy your curiosity, about the community, we will be glad.

I think part social problems and part just liking nature
I've always felt more kindred towards animals and nature instead of other people
Also the porn

I believe that, since always, I felt like you in the part of "liking Nature, kindred towards animals"... but especially after an experience that I had befriending a flock of Crows (Corvus corax) that I met one day, some years ago. We exchanged gifts, and I felt towards them I kind of comradeship and trust that I haven't felt with most humans.

Since that, it really doesn't hurt me much, what other people may think about me. Mabe before I don't cared verry much, but I know that now I care even less. So it is an experience that I treasure.

I don't think I'm one. I don't like fursuits, don't care about cons, don't even care much about the community either. Lot's of cringe and very immature behaviour.
Although, I do support some Artists. The fandom has very talented individuals and they deserve to be rewarded.

I have always loved the concept of humans mixing with other sapient species. Kinda like Humans with elves, or Shepard and Tali in Mass Effect. And the furry fandom just takes it one step further by adding dragons, horse people and whatnot to the mix. I'm attracted to this concept since I was 12 and I discovered furry stuff when I was 14 or 15.

I think exactly like that.

Nowadays the so called "Burned Furs" are still received a lot of Flak for their opinions about porn (e.g. in the recent documental "The Fandom", for example, of which I want to open a topic soon).

I myself like - good tasted - furry porn, but it is true that furry should be much more about things like Science Faction, or elaborated Fiction in general (from where it originally came), develop stories and pushing the limits through the force of imagination. Much as in the origins, Steve Gallacci or Roz Gibson did. Porn is ok - and here we are - but Furry deserves to much, much more.

Regarding "childish behavior" it was something that was marginally touched also in the times of the Burned Furs. For many people, OK, it is therapeutic to do antics in furry suits, to dance, to tease, simply feel "free" doing it. But to many furries like me, it gives nothing. We need much more... and we are barely getting something from time to time.

This is a presentation that Samuel Conway gave in a Con in Germany, is an example of how furries could get something, not extrictly "furry", but something given in a furry ambiance, that really should be promoted much more...

I don't watch documentaries because they are always wrong. I dislike how everyone lies about the truth. Porn is king, let's not even hide this people.

All the top artists, are porn artists, all the people that make a living from furry art, are porn artists. All massively backed up games or projects, are porn projects.

And then documentaries come and say: "oh, it's just like 3% of the community that is into that." Dude, come on....

5min spent on any website will show how much porn is being pumped out every second. And e621 is the most populated furry site with the biggest traffic. A porn website.

Porn is king in this fandom. And it's totally okay. It's what got me here in the first place because I really love seeing Human x "Insert Species" relationships, as I previously mentioned.

I like porn too.

=).

And yes, there are many many furries, most of them, that when you ask, they say they don't like porn, never watch porn, and that porn is gross and should not exist, even.

Much hypocrecy and denial, because yes, probably this has to be one of the most visited furry sites of all, if not the most.

I myself like very much porn. But I want more. Even more that what is available right now... but fortunatelly the fandom is evolving.

I know you do, after all, you're here aren't you? :P

Sorry if that came out a bit rough. I'm just tired of some people being in denial about the truth.

But yes, I don't mind new things coming in, specially things that evolve porn even further. The rise of VR porn games in the fandom is something I've been waiting since VR became a thing.

The rise of VR anything is something I've been waiting for since modern VR became a thing.

It could take until 2025 to get popular.

As you are talking of VR, there's a couple projects going on I saw posts of here.
The one I'm most familiar with is Yiffalicious. There's still content being created and published every day there.

VR experience would sure feel insane in my books.

Cartoon physics (stuff like "no intestines" and not having to think about STDs or preparations works better for fantasizing about anal sex 'cus I'm *very* squeamish about bacteria/diseases IRL) and massive butts plus Size Difference-kink in a way that normal 3D human porn can't pull off. Besides, e621 has the best sorting/tagging system I've ever used on any site.

(I don't consider only being on here for the porn to "be a Furry" bwt - it's not a lifetstyle or identity marker for me. Can go for long periods without it)

It's pretty easy for me to pin this down:
I grew up in the golden age of '80s and '90s cartoons that featured all kinds of anthropomorphic animals. Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, TMNT, Tiny Toons, Tale Spin, and Dark Wing Duck in combination with older classics like Robin Hood were all huge parts of my growing up. To a much lesser extent I'm sure Bambi helped, and The Lion King solidified it further.

Then on top of all that, the number one thing that likely led to it was the Star Fox comic in Nintendo Power. It even had an encore past the end of the game, after a "the end" page. Then later when I was searching for Star Fox fan fiction I found a story that was not about Nintendo's Star Fox and from there I learned what the fandom was in the late '90s.

American werewolf in London. than and crippling loneliness wanted to be a wolf so I could have a pack. I'm better now but still a furry

wow, never thought to see one of my old forum threads to be bumped back into the surface. Way to revive a corpse.
Anywhoooo, sounds like you went through a Therian phase.
